Early 70s in PA, always had a rifle or shotgun in the trunk in the student parking lot during hunting season. Used to go out and compare with buddies at lunch or before & after school. The good ol' days.

The good ol' days. And we use to leave the windows down in the truck and nobody ever messed with them. We all had knives in our pockets too

The good ol' days. Same here. We even had a teacher or two out there to admire someone’s new purchase of a small game gun or new deer rifle.

Soon as I saw the thread title,I immediately thought of the Nickel Mines school incident of 2006. I'm glad I was way off.

My little S-10 never had less than 2 guns in it throughout my high school years into the early 90’s…. Every other truck had a rear window gun rack which were only empty when it was on the seat next to the driver.. never had issues with idiots back then, a coincidence? Probably not, cuz if ya were an idiot ya got set straight by your parents or peers early on..

They actually had a gun club in the Oregon high school. And they had a bullet trap set up against the one wall of the school. And they actually had target practice against the wall. During hunting season my car always had a gun in it. We had this X hour were we didn't have a class, and it was an hour before lunch hour. 2 hours of hunting well maybe an hour.

I graduated in 1981 and always had my Browning 270 win. during rifle season in my back window of my truck at school. It was still very common even in the early 1980's

Yeah we had a Rifle Team/gun club as well. I think the Sarge and Col. from our ROTC program were the coaches. Tuesday night practice or team competition with other schools at the VFW indoor range with those target .22s was a blast. Think I still have all my certificates. lol Man, what year was that? America sounds awesome

When my Mother was in high school in the 1940’s, the bus driver carried a loaded rifle in the bus in deer season. At least once, he shot a buck out the window and had a couple of boys drag it back to the edge of the road. dang y'all are making me jealous! I was born 70 years too late lol

I spent the 5th grade in Costa Rica. Every Thursday it was "bring your machete" to school day. We had to mow the lawn.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
