Bear attacks. Arkansas has had 2 fatal bear attacks in less than a month. The 1st one was in Franklin County elderly man was working on his tractor on the side of a gravel rd.

2nd one is in Newton county 60 yr old male killed and dragged off, from his camp site.

It has been more than 25 years since we have had a bear attack.

Yes it is two different bears the one in Franklin County the son drove up and saw the bear attacking his dad. AGFC was called and the bear was killed with in two hours.

The 2nd one has not been caught yet (as of last news) they have closed the camp ground and they have 7 traps out. The victim had sent pics of a young male bear that was hanging around the camp a few days before being found dead.

The two county are about 85 miles apart

That's crazy...when I think of people being killed by bears I usually think of brown bears, not black bears.....

Neither bear had cubs.there are starting to be alot more mountain lions spotted also.just a matter of time.there is a reason people that settled this area years ago killed out those big predators.they will eat your livestock and your kids!

I maintain no matter how you feel about dog hunting , it is the best annual bear education tool around.

teach them to fear a pack of hounds and they will steer clear of even a beagle-mut that is more furniture with fur most days.

Sounds like they were able to kill the bear that killed the camper. DNA will confirm if it was the one in the attack

push for dog season , doesn't even matter if they run after bait season every year , an education is an education.

Black bears are more dangerous than brown.
