How do you guys sell it to them. Do you just chop it up into cubes and persevere it? Or stuff one into a 5 gallon bucket and preserve it. I do not have that much freezer room to store that many carcasses + hides.

******* I save my sick days, because come winter, I'm gonna have a bad case of trappin fever *******

Some states even though bears are considered big game it is legal to bait them. I have no idea what UT law is. I know a guy that sells a lot of beaver meat to bear hunters. He has a big grinder and cuts the skull, feet and tail off. He takes the guts out and leaves the lungs and heart and grinds the rest of the beaver whole bones and all. He frees them in tub and once froze they can be dumped out and stacked in a walk in freezer.

If you have enough freezer space, freeze whole

This right here. If they want the meat they will take it that way. If you got to do the extra work it might be priced a little high for some hunters.

If you can find them, people wanting raw dog food will pay several times better than bear hunters.

In MN you can't use carcass with bones in it. Gotta wonder who picks the bones out when they catch and eat them in the wild. confused

Find a cheap freezer always a good thing to have when you come across them. I have 3 running now and a spare if one of those go down. I think I paid $75 for the last one I bought.

What will a average carcass pay.

Is it worth the effort

In ALASKA, I pay $10 for a whole beaver minus the feet and pelt. It will have the TAIL ON, castors and oil sacks intact. I freeze them whole with the tail bent, makes carrying them easier after freezing. Sometimes the guy just calls me and gives them to me free when he can't get others to buy them or they start getting ripe. Bears don't care and that is who gets the beaver carcasses in the spring. I can get about a dozen into my trapping chest freezer.

Our dog mushers buy them too. The mushers that run the Iditarod buy them a lot.

I eat a lot of the one's I catch myself. Pot roast and bbq beaver sandwiches are killer.

My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!

Cut the castor and tails off and skin if fur is good and toss in the freezer

The CWD thing? I thought it was just spine and skull that you couldn't bring into Minnesota. Every other state that I know of, if they have CWD restrictions, it is confined to ungulates. But Minnesota you can't bring any spine or raw skulls into from any animal. I just happen to know this from guiding Minnesota residents for bear and lion. They can't bring the skull home until it is cleaned and dry, even though they don't carry CWD, the restrictions are written so that you can't bring anything of any animal. It might be all bones, I just know about the skulls.

I get more value out of them eating them myself or feeding to my dogs. I absolutely love Beaver. I dont target them except for when people have problems. Its generally a good way to gain access.
