I'll likely regret this post, as I'm about a dozen pounds of beer in. What is your favorite oddball pizza topping? I just finished a fine meal of smoked oyster pizza, and I'm doing well.

Not really a topping, but I like a splash of balsamic vinegar on my pizza. I’m pretty much a garbage bear with toppings, I like them all, except for pineapple.

I always thought pineapple on pizza sounded disgusting... but I worked for a little while at a pizza shop with a buffet and we could eat free pizza. One day all that was left was candian bacon and pineapple pizza so I said what the heck and tried a piece....it wasn't bad! Also a fan of buffalo chicken pizza.

We used to have East of Chicago pizza places in my area. Their specialty pizzas were really good including buffalo chicken, chicken barbecue and taco. The only thing I don't like, that is commonly on pizzas, is onion. I like onions caramelized and on pizzas they always seem to be undercooked, often nearly raw.

We do a night of garbage pizza on the last night of a weeklong deer camp, each year. Pretty much anything goes and it is always a couple tasty pies. Kinda what I was describing in my garbage bear description. lol.

No, but it is a thin crust pizza. Over the last few years every pizza place here seems to be getting skimpy on the toppings though.

Shrinkation is getting pretty old. I’d rather pay more than pay the same and get less.

We make pizza often, this is Italian sausage with wild Matsutakes mushrooms, basil.

Best pizza I have ever had is in West Yellowstone next to the grocery store. That place makes a killer pizza. Meat must be on pizza for me.

pizza without pineapple is 2nd tier stuff at best.

The sweet and salty of pineapple and pepperoni or sausage is a great taste combination.

As Mikey always said "try it, you'll like it".

My favorite Pizza is Sausage, Pepperoni, Onions and PINEAPPLE!

My biggest beef with most pizzas is way too much cheese, its just disgusting, more cheese doesn't add additional flavor, that and its like a mouth full of snot.
That and under cooking it, gotta be just short of turning black, then its done.

I've warmed up to Hawaiian pizza (pineapple and ham), as long as I don't think of it as pizza, but its own thing. The pineapple really does pair up perfectly with the ham; I can't imagine combining pineapple with any other toppings on a pizza, though.

I've heard that in Hawaii, they use SPAM on their Hawaiian pizza, since SPAM is popular there.

Also, according to Google, Hawaiian pizza was invented in Canada by a Greek immigrant.

Supreme (everything) no olives
Was a small place that made a "Robinhood", it had everything and lots of it
Years ago there was a Pizza Inn in town that had a cheeseburger pizza that was pretty good

I will eat most topping but thin crust or "hand tossed" crust, absolutely no deep dish thick crust, always raw in the middle.
I would rather have a PB&J than eat undercooked pizza dough

There is a place near me that has a specialty pizza on their menu.

A white pizza with shrimp scampi. No tomato sauce , but scampi sauce and plenty of shrimp. The aroma from a pie fresh out of the oven is to die for , super tasty.

Here theres a pizza joint in about every mile, lol. it's getting expensive too, like everything else, though theres a couple selling 14.95 cheese pies as a special...

We keep it simple, standard cheese pie, half pepperoni and half meatball....

Back when I ate that kinda stuff, there used to be an Italian place that ran a lunch buffet. They kept a steady supply of pizza slices out........and A#1 most popular that they could not keep stocked was their desert pizza. Basic pizza crust on top of which they would spread canned pie filling (cherry, apple, peach, etc), with some crumbles......they baked that, then when it came out of the oven, they topped it with a white icing like you would put on a cinnamon roll. It didn't last long.

Dave Portnoy didn't like it, but a couple slices of Casey's breakfast pizza is really good alongside a big cup of their regular black coffee.

As for low carb pizza.......one option is to have it piled high with meat, cheese and vegetables, then scrape it off the crust. Combined with a salad, it's a meal.

Long shot option for a low carb pizza is a true sourdough crust that has been allowed to proof for about 24 hours. By then, most of the carbs that were in the flour have been fermented out.

Pepperoni is my first choice.
Next is a fully loaded supreme with all the veggies.
After that ANY pizza except barbecue or one with pineapple. Yuck.
They will probably put on my tombstone some day, “died from pizza.”
I do love pizza. Lots of different kinds of pizza.

Thin crust toppings, cheese toppings to the edge so there is no dead zone sausage, mushrooms a plenty with some onion on it and enough sauce so you know it is under all that goodness

Years ago took my kids pronghorn hunting, on our way we stayed in montana, can’t remember if it was Missoula or Butte maybe. Every block had pizza for cheap. We found a motel and ordered a pizza it was great pizza for like $7 kids had me order a second one for the next days lunch. We had a great trip with many good memories.

Unusual? I make a razor clam pizza with white sauce, pretty good.
Went to a couple pizza places on an informational trip. People are putting cashews on their pizza. Never tried it but I asked the owner after seeing it on the menu. She said it is popular.

Used to make them with lump crab meat, under the cheese. The wife isn’t the biggest fan of seafood, so I got away from making it.

About ten years ago or so , I was in Seal Beach,Ca. for a gun shoot on the Navy's dime and time. I called up a buddy of mine who ran a bar near where I was staying to let him know I was in the area and that I'd be by his establishment once I got freed up. Myself and a couple buds showed up and he made us up this pizza that had a white sauce , fresh spinach, and lobster that he'd caught the night before . Phenomenal.

I can't believe that a post I made when I was drinking beer and inspired by pizza has made it this long. Thanks for contributing everyone, it's been a good read.

only good thing about living in Connecticut is that New Haven pizza is the best you can get!

I like about any Pizza. Including anchovies. However I'm a strong NO on the pineapple. My wife and kiddos love it however, so were a house divided.

I can totally rock some of those small Totinos frozen pizzas from Wal-Mart. Nothing will burn the roof of your mouth faster than that Lava they call pizza sauce on those suckers.

Baked ziti pizza. It's the baked ziti noodles and cheese sauce on top of a slice. One slice is a meal. I think it's a North East thing.

Hamburger and onion pizza. Then add some more Vidalia onions before we bake it if it's a frozen pizza. Thin crust only.
Hate all pepperoni pizzas.

X2

I have one of Pepe's of New Haven locations 2 miles away.

New Haven style pizza is the best. Coal fired.
