In the kitchen? I love my wife, and am dang glad to have her. But she is a poor cookie chef. This afternoon, whilst drinking beer, I decided to make a batch. Every kid, myself, and even my wife thinks they are better than hers. I'm kinda in the doghouse, but I'm eating real good cookies tonight. Hope you're all h [Linked Image]

I’m sure the missus is proud of your cookie baking!
In my house, I’m in charge of the grilling!

Proud is the wrong word Ashley. She's a little mad that I produced a superior cookie.

She had one, then got mad. I'm no psychiatrist, but I think she's secretly mad at herself.

I've had that same question form in my head the couple of times my little wife scrubbed my 100 year old cast iron frying pan with degreasing dish detergent!

Mom taught me how to bake seeing I was supposed to be the last kid and her last hope for a girl. So yes, i bake better than the wife.

Maybe she should trap and you become the cook/laundress/cleaner/vacumer/diaper changer? Women are more detail oriented so she could probably skin them $80.00 skunks without cutting into the glands.
Anyway congrats on the tasty cookies.

Good looking cookies, but you should have made more and made some ice cream sandwiches with them.

I would guess it needed it. Griswold used to put on their directions to wash with soap. But what would they know about cast iron.

Anyway congrats on the tasty cookies.

She skins most of the skunks, and she's pretty dang good at it. I change some of the diapers, but she's much better at it than I am. She did hit a gland the other day, but I didn't kick her out.

I’d skin skunks all day if chuckie would do the baking. I hate baking.
He loves sweets and I just don’t bake.

I told him I would sooner cook a flamingo than bake cookies.
I’ll cook whatever.
But baking? Messy and stupid

It isn't all bad. No one complains when you fart. PRO TIP: Never fry bacon nude!

My wife can't bake them either, but her pies are top of the line.

I told her one day she just don't apply herself hard enough, lol

My wife can make a fine pie as well. Give her some bear lard and a pumpkin, and she'll put most folks to shame. But cookies just aren't her strength. I don't think im going to divorce her for it though.

I learned how to do everything for myself. Figured I wasn't good looking enough for a fine woman like her, but she surprised me. If she gets too mad, I'll survive until she simmers down.

I know your struggle. several years ago my wife and daughter went out of town for something I dont remember what . So the boys and I stayed home. While talking about whr twe were going to do over the weekend one of the boys all of a sudden got a very concerned look on his face and said " what are we going to do about food" I had to figure out what he ment and asked. Basically who is going to feed us. When I told him I was going to cook the confused look on their faces was priceless. The reply was a very surprised Question with you can cook? The doubt in their face when I replied of course I can cook, just becues I dont and your mom does dose not mean I can't or dont know how.

So I flat threw down cooking that weekend to prove the point. Wife's reaction was not positive when the boys telling her about their weekend went on about how good Dads cooking was. They told me they liked it beter than moms. I told them make sure not to say that to or in front of their mom it would hurt her feelings. But even though they didnt say it directly she got the hint.

I had to tell her later its not that my cooking is better its just different And not what they are used to. Its the novelty if geting different things. That is what it took to finally make her feel better.

I would blame it on the alcohol and not cook any more cookies while she was in town wink

Or make another batch and leave something out/put too much in and never bake again laugh

I can cook just fine, never tried my hand at baking that I can recall

My wife is NOT a great cook...of anything,... and readily admits it, lol
you can't hurt her feelings saying something wasn't great...she already knows it... grin

If you helps you with reloading we may have to call you One Arm Sam or something.

I have nothing clever to put here.

My wife learned to bake from me, now I don’t have to. I still do the grilling, roasting, and smoking.

I learned how to cook when I was very young.in the summer months I stayed at the farm that my grandfather owned and my uncle and his wife ran it was only a mile down the road from my house.my aunt was not a very good cook but was a hard working farm girl.so after trying to eating her meals for awhile I started learning to cook on my own.i cook 90%of the time plus grilling and smoking.i dabble in baking a bit cookies and apple pie is about the extent of my skills in that dept.my wife will admit it can make most things better then her but I've often wondered if its because she doesn't want to cook. grin
