On my Savage Axis .243 I have a Weaver 3-9 scope on it. It came with the gun when we bought it. A couple years ago, I was hunting and I turned the turner-zoomer-thing (can someone inform me what it's actually called? I have no idea lol) and when I looked through it the reticle was crooked... like, really crooked. Then I think we fixed it somehow but I don't remember how. I haven't had it happen since until this morning, when I was coyote hunting, and I turned it to zoom in to 9 power and it made the reticle crooked. So I tried turning it back to 3 power and it went past the little white dot, and made the reticle crooked the other way. It isn't loose in the rings. Something is turning inside it. What do y'all think is happening with it? Anybody else experience this?? thanks

yup replace , you probably won't get a weaver on a combo warrantied I had that on a couple of Bushnell scopes do that
one nice thing about Vortex is if it does that they do warrantee it . I haven't had any of theirs do it but buy once and know they take care of it if it does break.
that ring goes by a few names
zoom magnification adjustment power adjustment magnification ring power ring
sort of mix and match those words but some variation of ring or adjustment and zoom , power or magnification
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Depending on you budget might consider a Vortex Crossfire II 4 -12 X 44 once securely mounted and zeroed is a rock and dependable. Have 3 on 3 different rifles 22lr, 243, 30-06 and have not had any issues with any. Optics are crystal clear regardless of magnification.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

The Vortex Crossfire line is made in China. I don't have any experience with them but wouldn't take one for free. The Vortex high end line is made in Japan and the intermediate lines are made in the Philippines. I have a couple of Vipers and Diamondback HPs (all made in the Philippines) and have been happy with them. The glass is decent. The reticles are on the fine side which is great at the range and in good light but something a little thicker would be better in low light. Some great deals can be found on Vortex scopes at times.
If I was going to buy another scope it would be a Trijicon. I have a Huron on one of my rifles and like it a lot plus they have a reputation for durability. I know some are made over seas, but I have watched them make scopes in Barneveld , Wi.
Just the right amount of whelm.
