“Lefty” came in broadside @ 28’ and I wasn’t prepared. I tried to ease into position and he bolted just out of range stopped then walked off.

That’s why it’s called hunting. Unfortunately part of the fame.

Just a deer story....to keep you up at night

My friend took a deer hunting trip to Ohio last week.

Had a nice 8 pointer ..25 yards broadside...had the compound full drawn .

Pin on the vitals...at the time he let it fly...a train whistle blew..the deer spun...

Always gotta see the bright side. You gave him a great story to tell his buddies.

Yes, inside of 10yds, broadside. Walked in from behind me to the left. There was some cover from a small holly but I didn’t act fast enough to be ready went he cleared and stopped. He probably heard my heart before he actually saw me. I glanced down at him and that small movement caused him to lift his head and look up toward me. He finally lowered his head back to the ground and I tried to turn and draw at the same time. I got half way there and he bolted left then straight away into some cover about 30yds away. Stopped, looked around then walked off. No blow, no tail. The whole encounter was probably about 2 minutes before I couldn’t see him anymore.

I've been there. It'll be ok. You'll only be kicking yourself for the rest of your life.
