Is it just the same just with the feet on. My friend shot an albino coon and wants me to skin it. He wants the option to mount it but will just hang it on the wall for now.
******* I save my sick days, because come winter, I'm gonna have a bad case of trappin fever *******

Tell him to throw it in the freezer and bring it whole to the taxidermist.

Tell him to throw it in the freezer and bring it whole to the taxidermist. Best right here Grandad use to do some taxi and he made the cut right down the center of their back.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

No, it's not the same. Pelts are usually dorsal skinned for taxi.
Proudly banned from the NTA.
Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

Every taxidermist will have their own notion of what they want and it will depend on the species of animal, etc. Most of us fur trappers do not have the expertise required for the job. Myself included.
Having said that; I have skinned a bunch of critters for taxidermy...but I leave the feet on and do not do the face prep. I just make sure my face skinning is proper for taxidermy. Lips intact, eyelids intact. etc.

I'd sell it whole to a taxidermist or skin it and have it tanned and hang the hide alone. If it turns out like every other raccoon mount, especially albinos, I've seen, I'd be ashamed to hang it in my house.
Worse than most bobcat mounts?

Worse than most bobcat mounts? It's a toss up. Very few good taxidermy mounts of anything but deer. At least way more bad than good.
