Looked around for a cell camera that fits my needs spypoint seems to have the best fit, no plan that your locked into the photos go through them they deal with the service providers. Cheap rates and versatile plans available through them with free 100 photos a month per camera, 250 photos or unlimited pay plans with monthly or yearly rate plans that you're not locked into you can stop service at any time.
Twin pack of flex M cell cams for $99 on sale now. I thought I’d give them a go in my better coverage locations most cat locations here are chip cameras only in the breaks. Thinking about setting them higher up the tree to get a better signal I prefer animal hight with my chip cams for more natural photos the cameras show what signal strength you have setting the cameras up.
Looks like the app on your phone controls the camera no need to be standing next to it I thought that was cool. I’ve got a couple of my 4H students that have been trying to catch a cat the last few years I’ll put one on that cubby and save trips down that way to check a chip cam. Have a landowner that wants to set for cats also so the same plan applies there it’s a remote spot and a good walk if the snow blows.

Everything you described is provided by nearly every other popular cell cam company.
You might want to read some Spypoint camera reviews b4 purchasing.

Do the other companies provide the cell service or is it up to the guy that buys the camera to set that up? They all have apps controlled by a cell phone and signal strength meter my buddy has a signal read out on his it helps setting up. This is the newest version of their line from the review I read the guy was not thrilled with the older style but liked the newer model.
Might not work at all where I’m putting them just giving them a shot to save me some driving time in the wrong direction.

Spypoint on the 100 pictures a month for free always goes over. every shadow, blade of grass, deer trips the camera. $100 dollars a year subscription plus $10ish a month unlimited. Nighttime distance is about 60 feet clearly after that pretty marginal, Ill be replacing mine at the end of this subscription year.

I bought 3 of them 4 years ago and other then switching over to there lithium batteries I haven't had a thing go wrong with any of them. They stay out 24/7 and keep sending pictures twice a day. The lithium batteries last at least 6 months and are more then worth the extra cost. They will take at least 24 hours to recharge thou. 1 is right by the deer feeders and sends around 50 to 60 pictures a day. I bought the cheapest ones they had at the time and would buy them again. Only colored pictures during the day time. Fog, heavy rain or heavy snow will get you some blurry pictures. If youtry to blow any pictures up to big they will get sort of blurry also but so will most of the others out there in this cost range

Ive got 8 of them and have had pretty good luck with them. I pay $100 a year and each camera gets 250 pictures a month.
Looks like he needs another year;-)

I’ve used a SpyPoint cell cam the last couple years. Aside from my own error with batteries (I need to buy the lithiums) I’ve not had issues to speak of.
As mentioned previously, picture quality to the phone app gets really blurry, but Ive found that if you review the chip from a computer the picture quality is excellent. Guessing it’s a file size constraint when sending over the cellular network, but I’m just guessing.
One big sell point, IMO, is the phone app. Very user-friendly and intuitive, and you can completely control the camera from your phone. Adjustable picture capture settings - trigger sensitivity, capture delay (instant, 10 sec, 30 sec, etc), image resolution quality, frequency of syncing to send photos, and it goes on.
You can share your camera with other SpyPoint users so they can see your photos on their personal phone app, and there’s several different cellular plans depending on your price point and how many monthly pictures you want.
I suspect anyone speaking negatively of SpyPoint just doesn’t understand how to use the cameras to their full potential.

Searched some more reviews on the model I ordered they are positive. I doubt I will be disappointed because I’m not expecting a lot the old model reviews were not as good so I’ll see what I end up with for $50 a camera and will go from there. The simple appeals the most to me if I can tell a bobcat from a deer it’s all I really need.
I ran Bushnell HD cameras for years and really never got a ton of great pictures but I’m not looking to frame any photos just need basic photos.

The models I have you can request so many of the HD versions of the photos per month. So if there's a pic that you're wanting a bit more detail on you can have the camera send the HD version to you.

If you use the free 100 pics, it will snap them on anything, I recently switched from SPYPOINT to Moultrie cell camera’s and it has been a great upgrade. Eric My buddy runs the Moultrie cams good pics but his seem to miss photos but it’s some rough country that we were using them in.

Some creek draws I trap for cats have high walls some over 100 feet high no roads it’s all on foot it’s so rough. I’m not expecting much from the cell cams just have a couple places I’ll try them in where they might work at. Cat county is not really cell signal friendly here I’m just seeing what they will do, the places they might work the best cell cam locations probably doesn’t hold many cats.
I’m running 5 chip cams and 2 cell cams I’m trying this year it’s not a huge line but it’s good cat country I always pick up a few cats where theres not a lot of cats but enough.

I have been using Spypionts for 5 years now. Always the free plan. Some cameras go over each month, Ill just wait for the next month or go out and pull card and replace with another, I have 10 and usually have one or two in hand. I hang mine high(8'-10') so there is less chance of people seeing them and taking them. I use climbing sticks to deploy and retrieve, along with a 1/4" screw eye and a 1/4" 20 eye bolt for precise aiming, both are 3' long to get away from tree. Straps are not good enough for aiming. Rechargeable Lithium batteries are what I have been using, If you have a camera that you want to be trouble free for an extended period of time the solar panels work great for that. The frensel lens looks for movement and heat signature, which will cause some heat pictures. Heat pictures are a PITA, not much you can do about it other than increase the time between pictures in the app when you get them. I always try to aim to the North to reduce the sun from washing out some pics. I have also tried the Moultree cameras and I will stick with Spypoint, Moultree has gone to no sd card so you cannot save the pictures to your computer, I realize you can by downloading to your phone then emailing them to yourself. Like I want to do that for a couple hundred pictures. Spypoint is free and that is what I like the most about them, picture quality is ok with the app, when you retrieve your card you get the HD versions.
Help yourself.

The texting photos to your email is a thing of the past now the major carriers dropped that feature it was probably the main thing I used my phone for in the past. Features gone but the bill didn’t get any cheaper.
Pics look fine to me. Thanks

Does spypoint have a cell camera that offers live view? Test photos? New to this myself I see it has a chip so I’m guessing you get the photos no matter what but I’m not 100% on that.

I hate subscriptions to ANYTHING. I’ll gladly take the bad reliability reviews to get those 100 free photos a month. Watch the blowout deals and you can amass an army of spypponts. My thought exactly.

I have spy point cameras and dont have any serious issues. Seems like work well enough for the money. Son was first given one of the add on sending units that go on our regular trail cameras. We only were using them on bear baits and it saved us alot of checking reading card. Thing about those units and we have two. Is we now had 8 batteries in the cell unit and 8 in camera. My son seen the cameras in a twin pack on sale so grab one. Is nice to only need to do 8 batteries. Last spring I came across a double pack on clearance at FF so I grab them. The 100 fee picture thing worked out okay for the most part. We didn't have the camera on the bear baits for months at time. So if you can get them set so you don't have 100 pictures of chipmunks and raccoons. Your okay. I just took two of our cameras out of the woods by our deer stands. I've gotten so we only put they in the woods couple weeks before season. But I do have the 4 best cameras on the $10 unlimited plan. Thats because we I use the now pretty much year around as cameras at my lake property. Biggest problem we have is squirrels chewing on them. I had to epoxy some spots they chewed let water in when rained. I don't need wall hanger quality photos so they fine with us. Just like to see what critter run the yard when we aren't around. See this guy on camera we call driveway cam. Cameras have been there now 3 years first fox on camera. Deer is on different yard camera. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/12/full-1002-276899-1000005542.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/12/full-1002-276900-1000005409.jpg) Mac
