My wife and I have been married for 38yrs, we haven't exchanged gifts for Christmas for several years. If we want something we just go get it. Any ideas on a not to crazy expensive but meaningful/thoughtful gift?
Whenever I ask what she might want for birthday's and such she'll say oh nothing

Same here, I tell my wife, just get what you want, and bye the way I don't want anything..lol

But....usually it's something small, I might get a couple bags of Dove dark chocolate, and she loves licorice, so usually a selection of different types...nothing fancy or expensive.

Her birthstone earrings or pendant necklace are nice and not to pricey unless you go HIGH end

We don’t spend much on each other. We enjoy traveling so that is our “gift” at Christmas. Married 52 years.

This is what we do as well. We like to travel, do what you enjoy while you can you never know when you won't be able to. A lot of people get wrapped up in material things IMO.

I did this one year for Chuckie. Found a seller online that makes your shape state and stains it and paints it whatever color and I printed out mini Polaroids of us over the years .

You guys are probably handy enough that you could use a scroll saw to do this yourself

We are the same tho. We buy what we want and don’t wait for special occasions. Our anniversary dinner we usually pick a local haunt that we love and are happy with that.
But this is an idea ….

My Bride and I are in the same boat. A few years ago, we started buying something that we want for ourselves and then wrap it up for the other to open. The boys and their wives don't think it's as fun as we do. After they've been married 42 years they might.

Bought my wife a pair of mink slippers from F N T a few years ago. Something I knew she would never buy and thought it would support the industry

Not a lady, we have but a few of those here.

You have been married a few more years than me. But, I assume you have already picked up on this.

Can’t ask them, they won’t say, and she buys things she needs.

Gotta listen the other 11 months or so, what did she fuss about? what did she off hand mention she thinks would be nice? Did she say, oh, I like that?

We can’t be meaningful or thoughtful with your wife! That would be weird as heck! Not our wife.

Good luck!

For instance, I’m getting the boss lady some stuff for her canning and preserving. And a new bowl for her mixer that has measurements on it. She mentioned how it would be nice if she could see markings on the bowl, so there!

What does she like? What does she want?

Not what she needs, they just buy that!

Good luck, I hope I make it all the way to 38 years

It’s deer hunting, not deer passing.

If I have a tag, I’m ready to drag.
