WhiteCliffs trapper W Joined: Feb 2022 Arkansas	I heard a guy on a podcast about Iowa deer hunting. He said total land area of Iowa is about 8% cover. Arkansas probably about 75% cover. They harvest about 20/25% of the total deer population in Iowa each year. No rifles, no baiting, no rut hunting, no dogs, no crossbows, short seasons, etc. in AR, we harvest about the same percentage of the total deer population as Iowa - baiting, crossbows, rut hunting, rifles, dog running, 8 week seasons, and a ton of cover.

jalstat trapper J Joined: Dec 2022 illinois	How about south Texas if you couldn’t hunt over bait I’d say with the short brush you’d have a hard time . Illinois isn’t easy because we can only shoot straight case rifles , if I could shoot a 7 mm I could kill a lot of nice deer at 300 plus yards . Now everyone has an opinion but in reality put in your time in good area because if the biggest deer you have is a 1 year and a half 6 point it’s the best u can kill
