Just got my latest round of bloodwork results back and happy to report the two key measures for my leukemia markers, the P210 and P190 both came back “undetectable” again.
It was five years ago when I was skinning a rough old male coyote and I tore my right pec tendon from my arm bone and they had to go in and pin and stitch that sucker back to its proper place. The pre-op bloodwork indicated I had something going on, but surgery got cleared and my follow up bloodwork plus some bone marrow testing showed I had CML. Was put immediately on a 2x a day chemo regimen with quick complete molecular response and results. After three straight years of that chemo and good undetectable results they took me off of chemo last May. Been in treatment free remission ever since.
T-man community has been awesome through this. I will never forget getting a box of cookies from Patrice and Zim through the discretionary fund. I about teared up when I read that card. What other forum in the world does that.
And yes Savell, I said I about teared up but didn’t fully tear up, (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) I’m still a trapper right?
There is no cure and I have to do fairly frequent follow up blood checks but these have moved to every 3 months now instead of monthly. So far am holding my own in treatment free remission.
I tell everyone when they ask about my 3” scar on front of my right shoulder and I tell them that is where the coyote got me. But that coyote also saved my life because it allowed me to catch something sinister very early in its stages and get treatment.
