I have "several" and feel that is far too many. I hope to get it down to a "few" or possibly even a "handful".
I have nothing clever to put here.

I thought I had enough until last summer I saw this real cool little Ruger PC9 carbine with the 17round magazine…. I’ve now carried it around on this trapping gig I was on practicing with peep sights…in a constitutional carry state…mostly I was only surrounded by Lutherans….

Yes and No
Yes , when storage & maintenance become a burden.
there are guns I have not shot in a few years , but I like to take everything out and give it a wipe down , it every year or every other year. now my storage is climate controlled and generally on the dry side so 2 years isn't an issue.
No. because there will always be some other goal , game , new thing you want to try. so as long as you are learning and growing and enjoying getting out shooting don't worry about adding another if it is in the budget.
back to the yes there is a case where you might be spending too much of your time and money budget on storage or storage concerns. the stuff I shoot the least tends to be more historical pieces and no I don't have any thing close to a super special collection by any means and everything is a user/shooter. least likely to get out for action are my WWII stuff or guns that aren't really collector pieces but that I also don't want to take out on bad weather. I have a gun with a plastic stock for bad weather that cleans easy and is also easily replaceable. some have know wear points with little way to fix them so they don't go out much.
the guns I play gun games like USPSA get the most round count , that said if they got broken there are parts available and a trip to the store they could be replaced in a week or less. Some guns are actually wear items like tires , heck they cost less than tires often.
I am also at a point I am not buying anything just to have it , I want to try something new , learn something do a different hunt , the education and experience is what drives the purchase.

I feel the same way about fishing rods as well.
I have a core 4 that go out alot , I have some past rods that get out sometimes , and a bunch that sit.
I am only going to put new line on what I use that year and a fishing rod is just sort of a thing hanging in the garage rafters if I haven't put new line on it this year to use it.
I like what I like and my fishing doesn't go that wildly different in species as fresh water Wisconsin species and not really targeting muskie , but anything else that bites.

Why is it you can't have to many guns, but if you have a bunch of ammo you are a ammo hoarder and cussed?

Why is it you can't have to many guns, but if you have a bunch of ammo you are a ammo hoarder and cussed? first rule of ammo ownership is the same as the first rule of fight club. don't talk about it and no one will know it stores best in a ammo can out of sight any way.
