I got cubbies ready and loaded the back with deer liver. Anything else like skunk or a Hiawatha Valley Predator bait?

Bait type, not that critical. What you need is Gusto. Never fails to produce.

Put the strong call lure high where you won't get it on you or on the fur.

Each day is a gift. LIVE IT with gratitude.

Take some beaver meat/ fat ..and rub that leaning pole with it .

Beaver meat is best.

I heat up a jar of petroleum jelly until just liquid..

Then dump an ounce of pure quill in the petroleum jar...put the lid on

And let it get back to its regular consistency.

You might want to do this outside .

Then ...at your set...smear a good dab of that jelly about 2 feet higher than your trap.

And smear it on the underside of the pole

Man do I know a spot for a pole set.
Tracks in the "zone"
Instant dispatch
No nontargets
No freeze down
What could go wrong?

I have some extra secret bait
if youns want some.
I won't mail it.

Good luck with the trophy.

Beaver is far better than deer. Add a dab of "Skunk Junk" up high and some "tree climber" in the box and then wait.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I've found if there is a fisher in the area, it doesnt care whats in the box. I've caught them with fish scraps along with beaver mostly.

Yep. And beaver meat or even duck feathers, or ideally breasted duck or upland bird carcasses.

Just doing what I want now.

No fisher or marten in Ohio so I never trapped any of them. A few better trappers with utube channels just set boxes on the ground with conies guarding them. Why are you hanging your setups in trees? Maybe a trap size restriction?
