For some reason don't get waves like that on my local lake.

I lived close to Marquette for a couple of years, used to go up and

just look at the waves, did the same on Ontario, lake superior was like the ocean

No rollers like that here today. I drove the truck on the ice so the water is a little thick.

Saw waves something like that this summer on Lake Erie. the Northwest winds blew over 3 foot of water out of the west end of the lake. Stacked it up over by New York which ended up flooding places. Stuff like that there's no place to hide.

Was at the lake years ago in October and that's what it looked like. Was impressed.

That's some wild water there ! Fort Peck can get to " rolling sheep " waves at times but nothing like that !

For those that have never seen it in person, it gives a whole new perspective on what those poor sailors on the Fitzgerald went through...wicked mean lake at times

Where are the surfers? I thought they would go anywhere for an epic wave.

Impressive; for some reason lake waters build a different kind of wave than seawater. The waves on lakes Iliamna, Becharof, and Ugashik in SW Alaska can become treachorous, wereas the same winds on nearby seawater would not create nearly the same conditions.
Regardless; nothing compares to 35 foot seas, which I've experienced once, and hopefully never again.
