Heard lots of apocalyptic stuff since the wife got home

and turned on the TV, the UP of Michigan sounds like

everyone will die, what's it really like ?

My daughter in WNY says it's no different than when she was a kid

We just caught the very bottom edge of it,

Ice, sleet and then all rain luckily, now its blowing 40mph.

Rain all day here.... driveway is a hockey rink...and needs sand.

Main roads are fine...but everything will ice up soon and be a mess

Wasn't as bad here as they forecasted, maybe some places got what they were forecasted but I think they over-hype stuff now.

We got maybe an inch of snow. Blowing pretty good now. Roads are a little slick with the packed snow. The rain yesterday washed all the brine off. That stuff doesn't seem to work too good anyway.

Yep Buzz the usual for us except for the extreme wind. Last big gust measured here was 79mph

Last three days we had ice storm, then 2 inches of rain, now 2 feet of snow. The usual December slop

We got ice first and then 16 inches of wet snow with wind gusts to 45 mph. 13 degrees now with 15-20 mph winds. Power has been out since 10:30 last night and they have no idea when it will be restored. Heart cath scheduled for next Monday. So yeah, if we didn't have a Generac we could be casualties. One of the worst storms in the 30 years we've lived here and not getting any younger.

I live about 20 miles from Lake Erie. I didn’t go up and look but NOAA said that there were 20 foot waves on Erie. That said that Lake Ontario had 27 foot waves, and Superior had 34 foot waves. It was not very pleasant outside.

We would be up there watching them huge waves.

I like setting in a boat on Lake Erie, in 2 foot waves, perch fishing.

Had 9" of snow here in Eau Claire, WI. Lots of drifting and ice covered roads.

Had 30 inches of snow here in the last 12 hrs.
Still snowing like crazy.

Just high winds in Western NC. Many areas have power outages from fallen trees.

How far north? Fairbanks AK is 45 belowish. No wind, we will be fine.

I live In Michigan`s Eastern U.P..We had 1 day Of rain.That night It froze,and we had 1/2 inch of Ice on the truck.Next day 8 inches of snow and 60 mph winds.Knocked down a few tree`s went 2 hours with no power.Still blowing and some snow.Two years ago same mph wind knocked down thousands of tree`s and no power for 3 days.The storm we are having Is a piece of cake.

Wind is still blowing and gusting to over 50 mph. Glad to see the large ore carriers are all waiting for calmer weather.
It is amazing how the small bird still come to the bird feeders with this wind.

Plowed 12" south of Fall Creek, WI (SE of Eau Claire). Lots of drifting with the gusting winds. Will likely warm up the 766 and clean up drifts again tomorrow.

I'm about half way between Buffalo and Detroit in Southern Ontario about 60 miles north of Lake Erie. The county has declared a state of emergency because plow trucks can't keep up to the drifting and there are major white outs. Most of the roads north and west of me are closed due to road conditions or accidents caused by road conditions. The snow depth isn't that bad yet but the wind is 60 miles an hour.
Most roads in North Est Ontario from North Bay north are closed they have more snow than us.
