I lived there for 12 years before I moved to PDC. It was called Luck of the Irish until about 4 - 5 years or so ago. It was owned by Tom and Lori Irish. It's now Lucky's and I work with the Dad of one of the owners. We both work 2nd shift and are the only 2 guys doing the job we do so we're working together everyday. Bagley's a resort town busy in the summer and pretty dead in the winter. The Cottonwood is also listed but I haven't been there in probably 30 years even though it's only 30 miles from me. My parents used to go there when I was a kid. They had awesome sirloin tips which were lightly breaded and friend pieces of sirloin steak. They were good.

I'll throw a nearby Iowa place in as well that classifies as a supper club IMO. The Old Rossville Store in Rossville IA. It's about 15 miles from PDC and they have really good Prime Rib at a reasonable price.
I'll add another IA one. The LIghthouse in Clayton IA, We went there on New Years Eve and had a very good meal. For the 2 of us the bill was $70.00. That's a steal on NYE.

The other thing that to me qualifies as a supper club is the salad bar that all the above offer. For me a good salad bar is going to be found in any supper club worthwhile.

I will have to look into those next time I am fishing pool 10
speaking of luck and Lucky's I was sitting eating at the bar having my fish fry and got to talking with the guy next to me he had his wife weekend in Bagley he is a Cuba city fireman , we got talking about fishing and the next day we were fishing some of the same areas. nice couple talked with them a couple times over the weekend.

part of what makes WI special is we don't just conform with the other states we do our own thing label our roads our own way , regulate alcohol different than any other state in the union.

we use words that don't get used else-where

we do things that don't happen else-where

maybe come visit some time some here could show you around the places that haven't been tainted by the chains in the cities.

I wish there was more unique restaurants than big chains too.

Last year, my cousin Billy opened a new Italian restaurant named Carmelo's after our great grandfather. Carmelo's was selected as the second best new restaurant in 2025 in the entire United States, which is a great accomplishment.

If any of you are in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, I recommend trying it out.

GCP, I'm pretty lucky to live where I do. I have not been fishing much in the last 5 years and haven't had my boat in the water in 5 years either. I hope to change that this year. So where do you launch out of when you're fishing pool 10? I'm guessing River of Lakes or Wylausing. I used to know that area of the river really well as I grew up on it running setlines and hoop nets with my Dad. From just down stateline as you come out of River of Lakes up to above Clayton a little ways we ran nets and lines through there. We had a boat slip at River of Lakes.

I don't know the river around PDC very well. I'd rather fish around Bagley for that reason even though I know the river has changed a lot with silting in over time. Have you went up the mouth of the Wisconsin river fishing when you've been down around Bagley/Wylausing?

How are they different than a restaurant then?

They are judged by their salad bars and their ability to make Dinner drinks, Old Fashions etc. and all the ice cream drinks,ie. Grasshoppers and such. Typically only open for evening dining, no sandwiches, just fine dining.

Just the right amount of whelm.

Used to be a lot in MN also, not so much anymore. Never heard of a membership or charge here either, but admittedly I haven’t been to many. Happy trapping! ScottW

I stayed at Wyalusing homestead campground this last September and fished pool10 for 4 days
my state parks sticker is going to be my first choice for launch , I dislike paying a daily launch fee when I already paid the state tag.
I have not been up the WI much found fish closer.
I get the fishing hot spots map for each pool I am fishing and look around and see what I want to try it is always an adventure. sometimes I find fish and it is a catching trip.
we should go fishing some time my boat isn't anything special but it floats , stable and gets me places.

houndone, I knew you had to be from that area when you mentioned those supper clubs. Diggerman you must be close too. Going by your name which isn't a guarantee. Is it New Diggings, Benton, Shullsburg area?

GCP if it works out I'd like to go fishing with you if you get over this way. I don't have anything fancy for fishing equipment either so no worries there. Honestly I've been in some boats where I'm almost scared to bait a hook or take a fish off if it bleeds or I get worm dirt on the floor.
