Results from our fur sale in Kalamazoo today. Small sale, but some good quality fur.

Thanks for your efforts!

Things seem to be improving but Where’s all the fur? This thing is shrinking. Hardly looks as there is enough to go around. Could we be facing a shortage:).

Is this a weather related issue? Is it market driven? Both?

If prices did go through the roof, can the remaining trappers fill the demand?

Have you not been paying attention grasshopper.

Dollar has been devalue almost 9 percent against other currencies.

The Ruble has appreciated 20 percent vs the dollar.

China has seen a good selling season.

The glut of ranch mink is pretty much cleaned out.

My furbuyer friends speak of the phones ringing more from wholesalers looking for goods.

And the best kept secret is beaver prices are improving. I've had 3 guys call me looking for shearing beaver. I've been waiting for Cathryn to break that news.

Trump would love to cut interest rates and devalue the dollar some more and make it easier for exports. If we can get the dxy market down around 90 you should be a happy camper. Probably not 2013 levels happy lol

If it were coon, yes without a doubt.

That is arguably unknown.

The ranch fur industry, the majority of the modern fur market has been reduced to a desert.

Producers on the side lines have aged 10 years. And joined the ranks of “I used to trap!”

Fraction of new trappers.

Scale of demand.

Our buyer said everything is going up. Theres not enough productuon to supply the market right now.

Weve had peiple caling jerry about his marten and looking for otter and beaver.

Jerry waiting till later to sell..maybe its a mistake but we doubt it.

The too end Coon and mink are going up and thats gonna bring the mid tomlower quality coon up too because there arent enough "good" coon out there.

Theres good demand for cats but ate holding them hoping tge market goes up.

Our buyer thinks even if theres high demand theres not enough trappers trapping this year.to increase production to fill the market...next year more peiple will trap( trying to capitlize on the prices) and supply and demand will take over.

The only way to truly capitilize on the market is to trap..even in the yers when fur is cheap.

IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

I agree it's a good time to not be in a hurry.

Chris, when will it capitulate?

Depends...........

beaverpeeler, MI doesn't sell the castor by ounces or pounds , its just by however the trapper presents it for sale. They always weigh it before it hits the auction table but they don't break it down by the ounces or pounds in the results

Yeah, I think I remember that from years past. It almost makes no sense to report any values for castor if you don't know how many lbs are involved... don't ya think?
