Been driving an Outback for over a year. The AWD is unbeatable, and I’ve put a lot of dead critters in the back, but now knowing they support the ASPCA has me rethinking my decision.

I never understood people that put part of their identity in the vehicle that they drive (or refuse to drive). Odd. herd mentality

The only reason I would never buy one is for every new one they sell supposedly they donate to various charities. One of those charities is the ASPCA. I was told you can request any of their charities for them to donate to. But, just knowing they donate to the ASPCA at all, is enough for me to never buy one because I hunt and trap which is something they vehemently oppose. I tell them that. I have a friend who has one and loves it. From the ASPCA website, about the Subaru partnership: You proved my point.
Every time I laugh, cough, or sneeze, my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.

I have a friend who has one and loves it. That never came up when my wife bought hers that seemed shady to me. I asked my friend who purchased a new Subaru what charity he chose when he bought his? He said they never mentioned anything about donating to a charity. Obviously some Subaru CEO is sympathetic towards animal rights organizations.

Since so many Bubersoo lovers here. The one I "try" to maintain. Boxer engine. All of a sudden stopped using oil. And the coolant is low. They say it is weather related. (cold) I say. Head gasket. I'll be the second to know. Pressure test through what to diagnose this ??? All cyls?

Subarus have been going down hill for years. The late 80’s were better than the 90’s. The 90s better than the 2000s. The older boxers all had a little piston skirt slap noise when cold staring but didn’t blow up very often. Early 2000s started having head gasket issues. Later 2000s head gasket and transmission trouble. It’s a shame, but seems like all car manufacturers have followed the same trend of getting worse rather than better. This^^ Apparently some engines are much more reliable than others, I would do a lot of research before I bought one, to make sure I bought a model without the chronic issues many have.
