This little guy moved into my barn and he gets a pass! All winter it’s patrolled my barn, pole barn, and around the house. Mouse sign sure has decreased!!!!
Comes out and visits whenever I’m out doing chores

As good as they are for killing mice and rats, I won't have them around my chickens.

I've wondered if weasels would make good pets, especially with generations of selected breeding. Some guys I know have had pretty good interactions with wild weasels for months to a few years.

I wouldn't mind one around my barn, as long as they don't mess with baby pigs. I was a little worried about cats at first but they leave the piglets alone

The ones that I see around my sheds and firewood stacks get a pass, by me, also. Sure do enjoy seeing them scurrying around.

I had one several years back in my fur shed that was getting bad for mice. Between that weasel and a northern pygmy own setting up shop in the in shed, the mice disappeared

It comes out and greets me . Not tame enough for petting it. It’s just very curious. If I’m working on something in the barn or near it, it comes out and checks out what I’m doing

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Anything that kills mice is welcome here. Including snakes.

The best friend you can have. Worth a million dollars alive then dead. I personally would never target a weasel for the little price you get for one.

As a youngster on our small farm, gram always had ckns, mostly laying hens with a couple of roosters. I can still remember some summer nights that dad woke up to a ruckus going on in the chicken coop and house. He would always run out to see what was going on with his old 22 rifle. I would follow behind some nights. He didnt want me to tag along but I always did.

Those weasels could do some damage in a short time on those chickens. Dad never got to shoot one as they were always getting away before we got in there it seems. My, that has been some time ago. Maybe 1956 -57 or so. We dont have ermine near me, mostly long tail weasels.
