Handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, swallow, handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, handful of Cheeto’s into my mouth, crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch, swallow. Keep doing this until the bag is almost done, and then put the little bit that’s left in the cupboard until you’re ready for bed. When you’re ready for bed, eat the rest of the bag then Zzzzzzzzzz.

The symphony of eating a bag of Cheeto’s is only enjoyed by the one eating. The listener wants to throat punch you.

When a grouse first starts to drum and it reminds you of old John Deere starting.

John Deere is what i was gonna say. My grandfather had a model A tricycle and I can still hear it in my mind.

Besides that not so much rhythms but sounds.. katydids remind me of happy days camping as a child. Spring peepers, coyotes, robins, mourning doves, wood thrushes and Canada geese all are sounds that hold meaning for me.

Rain hitting a tin roof. As a combat vet ,, the sound of a helicopter. To this day when I hear one I still look up to see it. Swans flying high overhead. The contented sound of cattle feeding at the feed bunk. The laughter of a young child.

whip-poor-wills have their own cadence, repeating the same one seemingly forever...until they all of a sudden get jiggy with it and change it up for a verse or two.

It's been many years since I have been close enough to one of the older balers to hear it run. Thing is it is one of the sound from my youth, I can hear in my mind. The old balers I worked around. They had a rhythm to them when they were running just right. The hay was right and the speed was right. So many rounds with the plunger. Then the needle moving up and knotters going.

So that sound and the rhythm of it has long been in my head. Think about it I can hear it now.

Another although I never milked cows. I was around them enough so I can hear that milker rhythm. Not talking about the drone of the vacuum pump that was common if outside. But the almost soothing swish sound of the milkers them selves.

It's funny. A few minutes ago I couldn't remember if I fed my dog this morning.

Yet I can easily recall the rhythmic sound of my track shoes when in high school. They made certian crunching sound on old cinder track. I listened to that crunch to get my pace right.

Man I got a whole list if I wanted to keep going.

Anyone else have sound with a specific rhythm you can easily recall.

Along with the baler rhythm is the sound of the 2 cylinder John Deere B we pulled it with.

I guess when i was 4 or 5 my old neighbor next door in town, still had a farm. He would go to the farm and bring his team of giant big plow horses to town. He still did plowing for others and he would start in the first thing in the morning with the horses and bring them back to the house in the evening. I loved those big old horses, and I can still here that team coming down the street and it is still bring a smile to my face. They sounded so majestic.

The other thing I can remember distinctly was the sound of riding on a train. My Dad and Granddad both worked on the railroad. Neither had cars. If we went any place out of town we always took the train. They had full family passes. I would on the train lay back and close my eyes, and listen to the cadence of those giant big wheels singing on the tracks.

Those are sounds that I will never forget.

These are all really great ! I hadn't really thought about the nostalgia that comes with rhythmic sounds.

The home where I grew up was triangle in by rail road tracks. To the east was single track Chicago and Northwestern. To the west was the two track Burlington Northern and the north end of their rail yard. Farther to the south was Sooline and Amtrac.
By my parent old cottage by Black River Falls was about hundred yards off the GreenBay and Northwestern.
Where I live now Im once again 3 blocks away from Burlington Northern tracks.

So you might say I know a bit about train sounds. Can sleep threw their noise as well as most.

The sound that goes with my Rythm theme. Is the sound the wheels made crossing the rail joints. Is a 4 count click ity click, thing. Its still a sound that trains make as car wheels cross joints. But with ribbon rail and all things new with trains. I don't think it just as noticeable as used to be.
But I can hear that that sound just thinking about it.

Moved to a dairy farm and lived with a Danish immigrant family in northern Jackson County in 1962. It was a good place for me to live and work. Lots of memories but the baler one lives with me yet today. We used a baler with a Wisconsin (Badger engine on it with a fly wheel and a plunger that came up high and then down. We pulled this with a JD 60 two-cylander tractor. My first jobs at 14 was to stand on the wagons and stack the bales. Yes the knoters were complex things but what I can still hear are the put, put the roar of the Badger engine, the whirl of the fly wheel and hammering of the plunger. Funny lbut 64 years later the recalling of all that melodic sound seems relaxing and theroputic in some ways.

Maybe off topic, but I love hearing the motorcycle engine fire up!

I lived about two miles away from the Long Island sound before moving upstate at the age of 18. Here I am going on 60 this year but if I close my eyes for a bit, I can still hear the foghorns from the tugboats. Sure takes me back.

I was always amazed by how many times I heard a real toe tapping rhythm while working in a machine shop.
