I watched that this afternoon. Let's see if they can get their organization straightened out. I loved my days in Scouts, but knew it would never be the same.

I have two sons who are Eagle scouts and I a life scout. The problem is it's not scouting America it called Boy Scouts of America and until that name is changed I can no longer support that organization. Not even a nickel will be given .

Pete Hegseth said he wants them to go back to that. Withholding the funds they need, unless they comply, is a good start.

Fantastic!!! Got my Eagle Scout in 97. I pray it goes back to the way it was so my grandsons can find a troop & enjoy the Boy Scouts as I did growing up.

Started out in Cub Scouts then up through Boy Scouts. Learned a lot and was and still is time well spent. What really helped was we had 2 great troop leaders.

Boy scouts was a very positive influence on me. We did stuff its hard to imagine the urbanite parents of today would allow their kids to participate in. Shooting sports both firearms and bows, Multiple day survival hikes, 50 mile canoe trips, multiple day backpack trips, and winter camping for starters. I hope it comes back. Was a great organization when I was a kid.

I started early in the Cub Scouts and made my way to Star Scout before life took me in a different direction. The adventures we shared along the way were great and I will always remember them. Rafting trips down the PA Grand Canyon/Pine River Gorge, week-long Summer and Winter Camps, weekends at our troops own Camp Glowwood, epic nighttime Capture The Flag battles on our scoutmaster's two-hundred acre farm, rifle and archery training, survival camps and training, jamborees...
It's a real shame what the libtards did to a once great organization.
Eh...wot?

I am an Eagle Scout, oldest son is an Eagle Scout, youngest is getting ready to get his, and I am the Scoutmaster. We run ours like the days of old as do most others around here. Adding girls was the final nail. It will never go back. We just did the Citizenship in the Society merit badge(one that just got canned). We focused on helping others and doing what is right. It definitely could have been a full DEI badge and was probably designed to go that route. Some of the boys weren't at the meeting and were going to get it next month but guess they lucked out. Handed the Cub scout pack off to a guy that let it die fast. No one wants to take it back up. Our Troop is almost 100 years old. Will get these boys through Eagle but without a feeder program our Troop will probably be done just short of 100 years. Over 220 Eagle Scouts.

That's great that your troop produced all those Eagle Scouts TurkeyTime and sad that it may be ending.
My best hunting buddy is an Eagle Scout. I remember his mom asking me to write a letter of recommendation to the Eagle Scout Review Board. I wrote a good one and I didn't have to embellish. He's an honest hard-working guy. Went to Vo-Tech for diesel mechanics and has been working in that field since graduation. Him and his wife just bought their first house, both are in their mid-twenties.
The world needs more like him

Cub scouts and boy scouts had good leaders in my era. Very outdoors oriented men and some women that helped pave the way for me in my younger years as a young man. Hikes, cooking over open fires, shooting guns and bow/arrows, identifying outdoor edible plants and how to prep them.
So much was learned in those years that helped put me on track to a good life. I became an Eagle Scout in 1966. It was earned and had many merit badges needed to achieve that rank. No fluff back in those days. You did it according to their standards or you didn't achieve that goal until you could make it.
After watching video I learned some things. I became an Eagle Scout in 1964. Was a good organization. I supported it though the years until they changed name and combined girls and boys. Having two daughters. They had the option of Girl Scouts which I don’t believe they did. When I watched the video I could not believe some of the merit badges. When I got my 25 badges they were related to outdoor things. Glad I stopped supporting the organization still an Eagle Scout I guess I will always be but they will get no $ from me. Pretty sad

30% of the members of Scouting America are girls so there probably won't be any big desire to change in the near future. I have been a member of twoVFWs and we sponsored the scouts or chartered them in both communities. Neither of those communities had a girl scout organization so the admission of girls has allowed many more girls a chance to have a scouting experience, which I feel is a good thing. Yes there are many that feel that is wrong or not good, but they are entitled to their views and if they won't allow their boys to join, then the current trend will probablly contnue or even increase. Our youngest granddaughter happens to live in an area where they have a girl scout troop and this summer she will be an assistant counselor for their summer camp. Her father is an Eagle Scout and I don't know if there were no girl scout troops nearby if he would have wanted her to join Scouting America or not. As stated above we have good support in our current community for scouts and they are run today like they were for decades. Interesting that many don't want girls in the program yet female troop and pack leaders are very welcome to volunteer and serve.

It's about time some common sense was injected into this country. Back in the day when I was in Boy Scouts having girls in Boy Scouts wouldn't have ever been considered. It would have been laughable. Same with boys in Girl Scouts.
