For the past few years, our springs have become less “spring-like”. To be fair, I really don’t like spring in SW Oklahoma as it just ushers in the brutal summer. In addition to that , it’s not like we have the kind of winter where spring brings in the relief that comes with it . People who live in areas that actually have winters know. I kinda miss that. But not here. We’re in a very significant drought with no sign of it getting better. I actually didn’t hunt waterfowl this year as some of the holes like to hunt dried up. We’ve been in a “burn ban” since fall . Keep us in your prayers. This isn’t looking good. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/03/full-5136-288746-img_5074.jpeg)

I don’t care if some people think I’m a conspiracy theorist nut job. But I wholeheartedly believe that our whole weather pattern is messed up because of the H.A.A.R.P. Experimental crap. I was shocked to learn that Illinois had more tornadoes than any other state last year. You would think Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas would have held that unfortunate crown

Drought/rain is historically a 14 year cycle; 7 years of not enough rain followed by 7 years of too much rain. Farmers I know are always complaining. Mother nature evens it all out in the end; but, it sure would be nice if there was some consistency year over year.

It is believed that a 350 year drought in the eastern Mediterranean changed world history at the end of the Bronze Age. Wars and massive human migration ensued Civilizations collapsed.
Hope that cheers you up this morning!

Sorry to make light of your situation but i couldn't help myself. But it sounds like you are way behind in the rain dept. Hope you get some soon.

These comments are not disappointing ! lol I needed that.
Hate hearing that so many across the country are experiencing similar issues. I see a lot of cattle being sold off cheap around here.

Might as well start building pipelines from the Mississippi river now......Spring flood water could be pumped, and alleviate big problems on both ends of the country.

It's similar here in central IL. I planted hay in the fall the last couple years. Total waste due to now rain. Now planting it again right now hoping for rain but hearing a dry April is coming. Had to feed hay from July thru the winter. Usually only feed from December through winter.

Drought here the last few years as well. My 40 acre pond is half its original size. Another couple more years of this drought type weather and I will be renting out my pond to a local potato farmer.
Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.

That’s has been proposed for years and there is a plan, but like everything these days bureaucrats are in the way. The Mississippi doesn't have any water to give. When I was in West TN this year it was almost half a mile to the edge of the water from the river bank. Lowest I've ever seen the big river in all my trips over it.
Gotta live up to the nickname...

It’s surprising about your fall seeded alfalfa, I’ve gone to fall seeded as it seems to do better, here we’ll get a late spring freeze that really damages the alfalfa.

Can you talk to mary and see if you can get any relief, possibly even peter. didnt think so. I certainly ask them to pray for us in our time of need . Just like we do here. You’ll find that in Revelations. That was a cute attempt at mockery, though.

They can blame it on global warming or climate change or what ever they want to call it. It isn't going to change anything. More taxes? On what? The earth doing as it has for billions of years? It's sad that some suffer, but it's why people have moved to better places since the beginning of time. It's still going on today.

Id like some sunshine but not the drought.
Dear Lord we pray for those across our nation experiencing increased weather. We know you can perform miracles Lord, please send relief to your brothers and sisters in Christ, like Aaron and his family. I'm Jesus name, we pray. Amen. Thank you , Kristen , and ‘Happy Birthday’ . They can blame it on global warming or climate change or what ever they want to call it. It isn't going to change anything. More taxes? On what? The earth doing as it has for billions of years? It's sad that some suffer, but it's why people have moved to better places since the beginning of time. It's still going on today. Any kind of man made climate change would be low on my list of reasons for our drought and unseasonably hot weather .

Sounds like alabama, we have winter and summer! Was snowing monday morning, 85 today! Very relatable, my friend. I just got back from NM and was glad it cooled off a bit in OK and that I didn't see any fires.
But...no real rain chances in the 10 day. Wind swung out of the north, this afternoon, definitely cooled down. The last real rain we’ve had was the evening of St. Valentines. It was a brief , violent rain. I trust you guys had a great time in NM.

I was talking to the mayordomo of our ditch association (the head guy) and he said we likely won't get any water at our place this summer. Pray for rain!
