I believe it was AI. I have no doubts that improvements have been made in gun care products.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

It probably is AI -but this fella was an armorer for Smith and Wesson and Ruger. After watching this one , I started using paint thinner and mineral oil exclusively . I'm 69 years old , and my guns are as clean and run as well as they ever have with Rem Oil , Breakfree CLP , Hoppes etc,,,, Just throwing this out there in case anyone wants to save a little money. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlRHDZfccl0 . Guys channel is GUNBLUE 490 on you tube, a lot of good videos .

Don't wish to throw shade on OP's videos..........but having neglected barrel on first rifle I ever bought.......neglect bordering on abuse......enough to cause deep pitted corrosion coast to coast that had it shooting so bad barrel had to be replaced........I pay much more attention to taking care of the barrels these days. That rifle had not a speck of rust on exterior anywhere......looked as new as it did when pulled from the box. But the barrel was toast. Would not shoot for beans.
I've got 4 of 5 books written by guy named Nathan Foster......covers the waterfront on everything rifles and ammunition.........and part in one book that covers care and cleaning of barrels runs 40 pages alone. In all that, mineral oil is never mentioned once. What is needed is a carbon fouling solvent, copper solvent and an oil lubricant. Mineral oil could do that, but isn't mentioned. Then long term (defined as gun put away not knowing when it will be used again........could be months or years.....but would certainly apply if putting a hunting rifle away until next season), then inside barrel coating of choice is a form of grease. Not oil.......grease. Only caveat to grease is you have to clean all that out before you shoot it again. But it won't be rusted when you do.
If barrel is of the chrome moly type carbon steel, care has to be militant. Stainless more forgiving, but still does not tolerate neglect. As in anytime you take a gun outside and shoot it, when you get back home, you clean it. That is his regimen and advice. I doubt many of us do anything close. I know I didn't......and rifle barrel paid the price.

I've come to believe cleaning to be so important rifles ought to ship with a one piece, vinyl coated cleaning rod with brushes and jag to match. Because they don't, it ought to be one of first purchases to go with a new rifle..........as important as a case........or first box of ammo.
