Why do users here use one or two words like click bait to start a thread ? Is this typical of all forums? For me I just don't open them. In my opinion if you want advice or have something to offer why not make a decent title for the thread. Couple current examples: Beef, Nephew took care of me, Has anyone used one? Square or Round Always , just like you

I agree with Slick Pan and WhiteCliffs. It takes very little effort to make your title convey what you’re post is about. You can even do it with a very short title if you put a minimal amount of thought into it.
If the title is something vague and especially if it is from a user who I know is a drama queen, I’m just scrolling right by.
Eh...wot?

Even after 20+ years here I occasionally get surprised. I really had thought that every possible thing that could be complained about on here, had been complained about before. And then I opened this thread.
Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

It is what it is, I accept that. But .... when searching for a pertinent topic to address a question, a clearly labeled post topic is extremely helpful. That is what I mostly miss regarding the abbreviated methods.

Do you think I worded the title that way by accident ? How about presenting a justifiable reason why it's done? Why don't you give a justifiable reason why you just did it. Comments three times in six hours, trying to learn Maybe you need a learing center.
You know you're old when you walk past a rest room and think, as long as I'm here........

You cant place pictures in the title that I know of to have a full view. I guess next time ill title it "I am wanting people's opinions on a lighter that looks like a light saber that advertises as it can melt cans and get up to 1800 degrees, just curious if anyone has used one in person and if they are worth the money." In the thread ill place a picture with the brand, and say looking for gift ideas, these good or bad.

as usual with most posts of a controversial nature on trapperman the jokes abound and the poster is chastised for his post because the poster speaks out and does not fall in line. I am correct in my post and I have proven it. That's good enough for me so carry on.

You also could have titled it “Has Anyone Used A Lighter Like This?” While I did not click on your original post because nothing specifically interested me, I would have clicked on a post as in my example of a thread title. I use a lighter quite a bit. There might be rainy days when I cant do much outside and I would click on an ambiguous thread title - but most days I have enough things to do to otherwise occupy my time.

[/quote] I could have, however im on the man 5 mins here 10 mins there so I like quick and easy. If I miss out because I use simple titles because you passed up my thread and could have great advice and experience then I guess its my fault and loss. Im not on here crying about how no one post on my threads. Not every post is for everyone, most on here pass the thread up if it does not Interest them or they have nothing to add. Complaining about "click bait" and the lack of words/info in a title is more so click bait then asking a simple question the simplest way possible. Like you I have other things that occupy my life so its the reasoning of time for me not click bait.

Turned out it was all bullarkey to get peoples attention. I think I said you can still go hang them in your garden or something......LOL. Have you turned a new leaf or something?
