This D-4 is either a 1949 or a 1950. My father purchased it in 1950 for a little less than $3,000.00. Been used on the farm ever since. Starts with a pony motor. Had not been started in a year and a half but fired right up today. If you have been to the NJTA fur sales it sits in the back of the room. My father met my mother while using to clear a lot on a local lake community for my to be grandfather shortly after he bought it. They were married in 1951 and I was born in 1952.

My father owns a couple old dozers like that. Has em just for yard art. Pretty cool old dozers!

When I started working for the Feds in 1979, I ran a dozer that had cables controlling the blade - no hydraulics. I wonder how old that was. Probably WW II surplus
