Theres no lyrics right? The song is in honor of a gay prostitute, who is the "mother" in Mother of a Revolution and a violent riot, which is the "revolution" in the title. Anyone who thinks songs about those topics are appropriate songs for children is not a conservative and supports grooming children for homosexuality.
Keith so, why the need for parental notification? I'm fairly certain the music teacher must have had the intention to explain the significance of the composition...in order to trigger the parental notification.

If it was me I would have sent a note home to CYA in case someone happen to over react at a school board meeting or something. Not like that would ever happen. If the teacher is a nut doing what you are saying then I guess I agree but I don't see why we should assume they are doing that. Did it say something to that effect?
You guys have never rocked out to a song and realized it was Queen? Does that really ruin someones day? Thats all Im saying. I'm saying that if the real intent was just to perform a difficult composition, there would have been no reason to make an issue of, or even mention the backstory; no reason to trigger the parental notification requirement; no reason to bring up anything of the sort.

You guys have never rocked out to a song and realized it was Queen? Does that really ruin someones day? Thats all Im saying. There's a huge, beyond incredibly obvious difference, to most people, in listening to or performing a song by a gay composer, than in making children perform a song in honor of a gay male prostitute, who is being portrayed as a mother of a violent riot, where law enforcement officers had deadly force (bricks, rocks, bottles and more) used to injure them and buildings occupied by people were set on fire, jeopardizing their lives. How can you or anyone else not grasp this? Keith

Show me a trumpet solo that makes you feel queer. If it was me I would have sent a note home to CYA in case someone happen to over react at a school board meeting or something. "JoJo was a man who thought he was a woman..."
"Dude looks like a lady..."
none of these others glorify riots.
if the music teacher has those proclivities, I'd say it's a safe bet that there were classroom discussions planned around the composer's backstory.

So let me get this right... band kids were practicing for a year and have been planning a band concert at the school playing instruments with no lyrics and there is a huge outcry b/c a gay person composed the piece? Did I miss something? Its not pushing any agenda right? How is this indoctornating children? Do you have any idea how many TV shows, movies, books, and the such were written by someone gay? I don't think the kids are going to think anything about anything. They are learning music and playing an instrument for the parents and grandparents to hear. I don't think they'll be marching out of the school in a gay pride parade or anything. The performance: https://youtu.be/R6ieR-YZ4eY?si=0aRxdRpNP_tPdF7r Clearly not a single person would care or know anything about it if it was just sheet music being played. Its likely th teaching all about the riot and why these song was wrote by a liberal teacher pushing an agenda. There b is a reason the teacher picked this song over tha thousand of others after all. But not they will argue like that was not the goal. Very similar to how thay try to claim Islamic terrorism is just a small group distorting Islam. That Islam is just a religion of peace and love. Islam is a religion of death convert or die cult once you look into it. But but its just a music with no words. Sure but your leaving out all ti classroom lessons teaching about the event that inspired the composition of said song. Taught in a way making the even look positive.

Not sure why everyone is trying to burn someone at the stake by convicting them with a firm “likely” or “im pretty sure”… because it makes no sense to issue a Parental Notification, if no one was being taught the origin/backstory of the piece! it follows logically then, that the music teacher intended to introduce the backstory to they's students. did they issue Parental Notifications for every OTHER piece of music they intended to perform? if not, a reasonable person would ask himself "why DIDN'T they feel the need to do so for the rest of the concert's playlist; but they DID feel the need for THIS one?"

Obviously I am being sarcastic towards the softies that cry indoctrination all of the time. No, that is not possible. They must be trans lawmen, cattle rustlers, etc. Otherwise this would be no fun at all.
