The wind has been 40-60mph today with gusts over 60. The dirt is blowing bad enough they did not run the school buses this afternoon. I can not see a pole barn a mile south of me. It is real dry and the wind has it moving.

Fields are all freshly worked and nothing to hold the soil in place. Dusty here too, but not like that!

Maybe we should start thinking more seriously about what happened 100 years ago in the Midwest and on the Great Plains. Shelter belts would be a win-win for people as well as wildlife. It's not smart to mistreat Mother Nature - in the near future most of Iowa's topsoil will be in the Delta as well.

Blowing so hard the other day had a dust storm go across the lake.

The wind is start to slack off some. It shows 30-45mph wind now. I can see over a mile now. I think of the travels I have done in my life and all the places I have been often. It was a good run while it lasted.

Looks like the ice storm that was supposed to hit the north didn’t materialize judging by the outage map.

They are showing winds 25-45 today with gusts over 50mph. So there will still be a walleye chop.

Wind blows in Montana all the time. Been terrible the last few days dirt storms with zero visibility at times. I may add very dry to boot.

Went by a place yesterday where they are doing a lot of dirt work. There were sand drifts off the end of the job site.

I realize not the same situation everywhere, but for us locally in WI drainage areas (Rock River, Wisconsin River, Bago system and so on) this last week of high winds & bluebird skies has reduced the water levels dramatically. A light rain to keep the top soil wet would be great, but the flooding is dropping fast. Seeing a lot of farmers finally being able to get into most of their fields

I went into town and in spots it was blowing and drifting. Here is a picture of by Berthold. This is taken looking down the HWY. On the way to town I saw dirt drifted in on the edge of the road. The fields look like little snow drifts, but it is dirt. The ditches have enough dirt in them you can not see grass from the edge of the field to the edge of the road. I have a video that the picture was taken from, but no idea how to post it.

Super dry windy and dusty down here in SE, SD too. Promising chance of thunderstorms this weekend

The wind blows here 24/7 I swear. Really dry here too. The next few days aren’t going to be fun. I definitely feel your pain
