Well, if a co worker or someone says you're full of "you-know-what" your rejoinder is you can supply medical evidence to the affirm that opinion.

Last year when I had mine done, I was still sporting the colostomy bag. For prep, that's the way to go.

I have had many colon exams because of a family history. I had colon cancer about seven years ago, I am on a three year schedule. I request that I not be sedated so I can see the procedure on the monitor and the doctor can talk to me as he explores the great unknown. There is no pain at all.

My cancer was caught at stage 1. A portion of my colon was soon removed and reconnected. No chemo or radiation needed.

I encourage all of you to follow the recommended exam schedules. When I was in my 60s ( now 79), a doctor said that at my age I would never need another colon exam. Boy was he wrong. My son now gets his every three years because of our family history. He has had several polyps. He is 49. His younger sister is being followed as well.

It is not fun, but it is a life saver if a cancer is detected very early. By removing the suspicious polyps, a future cancer can be easily prevented.

I am probably preaching to the choir. Stay on schedule and stay alive.

Number 4 for me this year. First one found polyp’s non cancerous. Family history of colon cancer. The prep sucks.
My brother in law had colon cancer. It was bad. But he survived.!!!!!

Cancer sucks for sure. As Charles mentioned above. !!!!!

When he was checking did he have both hands on your shoulders? Maybe it was so good the dr wanted a 2nd date.

You got this confused with a prostate exam when they check you for a enlarged prostate is when you want to worry about both hands on your shoulders.

I know everyone is trying to have fun here but it is a very serious problem and affecting younger people every year.our son was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer back in Dec of 17 and fought it for 4 years but lost the battle in dec of 21 he got divorced back in 2010 and had lived with us since that time.he left behind 1 son that the Dr's recommended he gets his 1st colonoscopy at age 18 that will be a little less then a year.
