Anyone deal with them. Been sick the past few month with stomach pains. Doc wants to put a camera down my throat but is pretty sure it’s ulcers. Gonna wait for blood work before I make the commitment. Any one on here deal with them before

Read somewhere that most, maybe all ulcers are caused by a bacteria, but they're hard to kill with antibiotics, but a course of Pepto Bismo somehow renders the bacteria susustible to the antibiotics then....

Stop aspirin and any NSAIDs. Tylenol is your new friend.

I tend to throw up every time I take pepto and the Tylenol is what the doc said to guess 16 years of eating Copenhagen and a lot of stress finally ran it’s course

Milk of Magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) is an over-the-counter saline laxative and antacid. It works by drawing water into your intestines to soften stool for constipation relief (taking 30 minutes to 6 hours), and it neutralizes stomach acid to soothe heartburn and indigestion.

It’s all help don’t like doctors or medicine but guess it’s time to cut back on a few things.

That’s absurd. I am in charge of ordering and inventory at the clinic and I can purchase a bottle of 500 for $60.

I had it done. They welded up the ulcer with a laser. Gave me an antibiotic. Said mine was the result of bacteria. That was 20 years ago. No more problems.

Milk of mag is an antacid, sort of, but is primarily a laxative. Maalox, mylanta(al hydroxide products), and sucralfate, mask the symptoms of overproduction of acid. Pantoprazole, omeprazole and others prevent the production of acid. As stated earlier, get the GI exam if you are having that much pain after a few days of pantoprazole. It might save your life. I lost a good friend who ignored similar symptoms to esophageal cancer . He loved his cigars. Tobacco and snuff are just as bad.

Once my blood work comes back I think I’m going to go ahead and get the camera down the throat. Been gutting Copenhagen for about 17-18 years do I’m thinking the camera may be the better option even if it turns out to not be ulcers

I had a similar experience as Savell years ago. Vomiting blood.

Bought a juicer and ran some cabbage heads through it. Drank cabbage juice a couple times a day and the ulcer went away after a month or so
Don't ask me why. I just know it worked........and I don't recall where I read about doing that.

I take omeprazole everyday, the NSAID’s I have to take sometimes due to gout, the scope isn’t bad you just can’t eat after midnight so it’s not like a colonoscopy prep, the nice part with the scope is they’ll take a biopsy to know exactly what it is and make sure it’s not cancer.

Don't refuse a colonoscopy if your doc suggests it. I had pains bad enough I couldn't work. My family doctor scoped me for ulcers. He said a colonoscopy wasn't needed but he couldn't find what was the problem. Several of my co workers used the same doctor and spoke highly of him so I went there for a second opinion. The first thing he did was send me for a colonoscopy and it saved my life. They removed several cancerous polyps. I've always heard those don't cause pain but I haven't had pains since then.

Buddy of mine was like you didn't want the camera Wouldn't pay the co- pay . Turns out it morphed into stomach cancer. He lasted 8 months. Left 3 teenagers for his wife to raise. Been about 8 years now. So you decide if 58 bucks a month is money wasted or not.....

Ive had 3. Sucralate until they healed. then was given PPI. Nexium caused an antiinflammatory response so had to take dexilant. Cost me 60 bucks a month. But from my other response i'll pay it. First nice to not have heart burn all the time.
