Never had an issue using my cell phone on their page. The badger numbers are just estimates until the real number is known, don't know where you came up with 400 when all I have seen is the 150.

FHA was always been behind NAFA on technology. That does not speed the process up.

Agreed that the NAFA system was a pleasure to use. But I have often wondered the reason for posting valuations for buyers and sellers to see before the sale. Seems counterproductive to a competative bidding process.

FHA will never be like NAFA because FHA is owned and run by trappers-and that is a good thing.
The Board of directors will not allow them to waste money on trivial BS cause some techie whiner doesnt want to be inconvenienced.

Providing valuations for buyers helps the buyer because it saves them time and helps guide them towards good they can ahold.

As a buyer if I’m looking for red fox at $20.00 or less and the valuations are $30.00 or higher, there is no point in me looking at those goods because the chances of them selling at my price point are very slim. This is a made up example with made up numbers.

As for sellers - valuations give them one more thing to whine about. And if/when goods sell for above valuation, they are super happy.

Valuations.....pffft.... If the fur market was nice, smooth and predictable that'd be great.
The value is set when the hammer drops. Shippers & sellers woulda flipped their lids at the skunk market last spring. Some of the "valuations" haven't held true for years regarding some species, male/female.
Most of us already know a ball park figure what our check will be.....barring any surprises.....good or bad.

Sounds like you have a crystal ball and know everything ahead of time, why didn't you have 1,000 marten on the march sale is you knew the value ahead of time? Nancy is spot on about the valuations and if I am buying something for another person and they give a price range and its under the valuation there is no reason for me to waste my time...

Looks like all the catalogs are up except the Assorted Dressed Fur and Ranch Fox.

First timer here so I assume the lotting info should be posted to accounts soon. I like to see where my pelts fit in on the big picture. The receipts and specie counts are back up now but no lotting info yet.

The ranch fox offering is very small. Prices in March must have been right for most the collection to be bought up. Slim Pickens for those buyers that waited for the June sale.

Here we go again. What are you talking about? Crystal ball? I call it paying attention to the global market and doing your own research, don’t rely on your local fella to tell you what it’s worth. You mean to tell me that in December, you had no idea that marten were going to be good?

I don’t have very many marten, and if I did I wouldn’t target them any harder, it’s called wildlife management. Do you wait until the markets hot for one species the just go out and hammer them everywhere? Then you send em to the next auction and the price dropped already? How many did that with skunks? ……..
We all knew they were going to move well, but not that well for the one auction.

Anybody on here that has paid attention knows I don't like or trust FHA. But I think they are a good option to have, and help out the trappers that sell at state auctions or to local buyers a lot. Because those buyers know that they have to pay at least somewhat decent or a lot of their fur suppliers will ship to FHA next year. Every sale there is a thread on here, with mostly the same complaints, and a lot of them I never would have considered complaining about. Now not posting drumming fees, or charging more than quoted fees is a valid complaint, and I would be ticked if I was charged more than quoted. Most people would like a later receiving date, but I realize there is a lot to do, so there is going to be a big delay between receiving date and auction. A receiving date after the last of the state sales, to allow trappers the option of no saleing goods that they didn't get offered what they want for them and sending them off to the international auction without having to wait until the following year to sell would be very helpful for the trapper, but it could go both ways for the auction house.

I don't pay a lot of attention to most of the complaints about their website, because I never could do much with either theirs or NAFAs, back when NAFA was a going concern. I don't understand why they delete everybodies listed furs off of their account though for a week or so, before they post the lotting and grades. If they bothered to put up furs received in the first place, why on earth do they remove them a week before they post lotting results? Why not just leave them there until you post the lotting letters and delete or override them as you post that?

Wondering what the meaning is for the last one 999999. Ungraded tag?

Kind of funny how last year my same cats from the same areas graded mostly “ blue”. And this year “Red”. Lol

Anyway, all but one were westerns. 70721 was a Central. Always nice to see your cats be "Westerns".
