My 12 year old Welsh Terrier gets fed Science Diet ...and is at a perfect weight 18-19

Pounds...per the Vet .

The big problem is that she is eating her feces....

And her breath smells like (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) .

How have youns fixed this problem..

And a call to the vet on Monday is in order.

Nope, this is too easy! And on a Friday night too. If you start feeding her peppermints, at least when she eats her pooh her breath will smell better.

If you start eating it yourself..........she will quit

probably not the solution you want but follow the dog out when it goes and scoop up the feces and put in the compost or something so that she can't eat them.

I googled it, "Dogs eating poop—a behavior scientifically called coprophagia—usually stems from instinct, nutritional gaps, or learned behavioral habits." I guess she saw you do it???

They have protein taste buds. Unlike us. So they can taste the protein in the stool and it makes it taste GOOD. There are supplements that you can give for it. The old school vets claimed meat tenderizer would do the trick but there’s better ones now.

Also sorry but Hills science diet is garbage in my belief. Their customer service is no better

If you do feed a deterrent supplement you must feed it to every pet in the household not just the dog with poor taste

Anything that the first ingredient is meat.doesnt need to be expensive. I feed a tractor supply high protein now that I can't get ol Roy high protein

I was gonna suggest meat tenderizer on the scat but Smash says there are better options

Never had a dog that ate it's own scat but have seen plenty that eat chicken poop

I fail to see the problem. I wish my wifes dog cleaned up its own poop so it didnt get stuck in the tires of my lawn mower

One old school way I heard was to add canned pumpkin to the food, to make the poop taste bad.....What I want to know is who was the taste tester that determined that!,
