Needless to say, I choked the cold version down, not wanting to waste any of the $50 sandwich. If I try lobster roll again, it will be served warm with melted butter...hopefully it will be better smile

Ive had them both ways. Not a fan of either.Id rather just have the Lobster with butter,,or better yet,,some Alaska King Crab lags with a nice big Steak. grin

I've been in a few of those little country stores, that have a restaurant and always had good food at them. I used to get some really good breaded and fried, pork tenderloin sandwiches at one.

Speaking of food disappoinments; when I was buying fur in the midwest in the late 70's everyone was raving about "pork tenderloin". I decided I had to try it. I was at a little country resturant in Iowa and ordered one; biggest food disappointnent of my life. Bland, greasy piece of breaded, tastless something or other.

Fried pork tenderloins vary tremendously. I've had some as fair food, called Texas Tenderloins, that were bland like that and not good at all. I think it's in how they are spiced, breaded and cooked. I like them pretty spicy and they need a fair amount of salt on them.

Pork is like chicken in that it needs good flavoring.

Carolina BBQ might have been my bigest let down. Pulled pork with a bit of vinegar and mustard near as I could tell. Are you kidding me? I grew up on KC style BBQ and now I live amoung some of the best open pit masters in TX so I was not impressed at all.

I do love working on the Carolina coast but stick to seafood now

Those stores seem to always have good ham, meatloaf, Salisbury steak, pork tenderloins, liver and onions and sausage dinners. The sides are always decent too.

Leftlane I hear ya...was invited to a pig roast by the place we bought some boats from, the ol boy owner of the boat manufacturer brought up 2 pigs and a tow behind smoker...

Boy that smelled good, and looked great!, then the two helpers up and shredded the whole thing and poured vinegar all over it and slapped some of that on some white bread....
Boy was I disappointed, lol
