Never really wanted to go sure has heck dont want to now. And the Disney adults thing just has to be the end result of a long term psychological marketing do-hickie . Like don't get me wrong I'm all in for a lil nostalgia and having some child like wonder come back as an adult... But these Disney adult types are .....just too much

I've seen stuff on Disney adults before. They seem more than a little creepy to me. I don't think there's anything wrong with an adult going to Disney World or Disney Land, but those people take it to a whole, new, very weird level. It's an obsession for them.

I went when I was a kid and all I remember was a lot of walking and a big golf ball. So I absolutely didn't want to go when my wife got on a Disney vacation kick. Eventually I gave in she cut it down to 3 days. I figured I would take her we would go once and I wouldn't have to hear about it again.

She did her research and booked during premonition. They offered the dining plan for free if you stayed on sight. At the time that was one snack, couter service meal ( think fast food) and one table service( any of their nice restaurants per day. And they have a lot of nice places) the sit down meal included an appetizer for every person meal and dessert.



Back to my wife doing her research. She had all our dining reservations booked 6 months in advance and knew what the signature dishes were at each place, everything she wanted to see and whare it was located in each park. She knew what to go to first to avoid lines ect.
I was shocked I had a great time and the best part was I saved all the receipts from our "Free dining plan" and the food cost would have cost the same as the rest off the trip.
So my lodging, entertainment, and foot basically cost what lodging would have at a nice resort. Now at the time we were only a family of 3 but that lead us to going to Disney each year for several years. My wife loved it the kids that keep multiplying did sa well and it was economically cheap when catching the promos. The promos were great they offered then during slow times Oct through Jan. It was not hot and crowd size was very small.

But theu started cutting things out of the dining plan and tickets prices keep going up. Add in there was only so much Disney I could handel when there is so much more to see in our country we quit going. It was no longer making economic since.


People get nuts over Disney there is dis boards with any and all Disney info. Picts of every meal at every restaurant. My wife was sewing and embroidery a lot and making custom themed out fits for the kids from each day at the park. She was very good at it. Even sold a few dresses used for a couple hundred bucks each back 20 years ago.
People get plumb ate up with it. Today its absolutely to expensive for me to even consider going even though I have been making 2 x the amount I was making back when we were going.

Infact we had just gotten back from a 9 day trip and to a hot water heater that had gone out and a flooded basement. We were on the way home from home depot when we were hit by the 19 year old that ran a light and my 16 month old son was killed. We had the photo pass thing on that trip and got tons of family pictures there we would not have gotten otherwise.

After that Disney was kind of an obsession thing for my wife it was the last place wer were as a family before the wreck. The obsessive planing the trip for the year helped her function and out of shut down int fulldepression so for several years that was our vacation. Eventually she healed some and the trips became to expensive and we quit going.

Took the kids to rat world when they were little, only thing I remember was how expensive it was, lol, and how many times my daughter rode the "It's a small world" ride...
still can't get that tune out of my head!

I got taken there once. It was pretty neat. It was crazy to stand there, watch the sunset behind the castle, and to watch the firework shoot over the top of it in real life like you had seen on every cartoon you had watched as a kid. Gotta go at least once.

Seaworld is right there too. We had maybe a better time there but that was before they got rid of the whales. They had amazing coasters / rides too which we didn't expect.

Like you can stand at Disney and watch this happen in real life.

So, I probably have a different outlook on this... but I'll start by saying the "Disney Adult" stereotypes are pretty cringe.

Back in 2019, our house was hit by lightning and burned to the ground (everyone was OK, we didn't lose much as we were moving). This happened on the first day of my and my wife's scheduled vacations from work.
We decided it might be good for us and the kids to take an actual vacation instead of sitting home and stewing about the situation. We priced out a trip to Ottawa, then Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and were shocked by how expensive it was going to be. On a lark, my wife decided to price out a week at Disney in an economy resort - turns out there was a special rate for Canadians at that time and it was SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive for us to go to Florida than it was to stay in Ottawa or Tennessee. We thought this too good to be true, but we called to confirm, booked our trip and off we went.
I'll go on record saying as long as your expectations are realistic (it is an amusement park after all) I have found the level of service to be excellent. The food ain't Michelin star - even the fancy stuff they hype up on Youtube and social media but it does the trick and it's no more expensive than a crummy hotdog and fries would be at Canada's Wonderland...but the employees will go out of their way to make you happy or to address an issue to your satisfaction.
Also, when you have a 9 & 10 year old along for the ride, you can't beat the density of available activities. (I am talking about non-outdoors related activities here) One fun thing is only a 5 minute walk (and 30 minute wait) from the next fun thing. In Windsor, Ontario the only close, kid friendly entertainment is across the border. London is 2 hours down the 401 and Toronto is another 2 from there. With Park Hopper passes and Resort bus transportation you are easily able to visit all 4 parks in a single day plus check out Disney Springs and any of the other resort properties without worrying about parking or finding gas stations.
Honestly, I'd go back without kids but only for 3 days at most... but prices have gone up significantly just in the last year so it's not economical anymore.

My wife has owned a travel agency for 15 years. Employs over 30 agents. Disney has been their #1 vendor sold year after year after year. Disney Cruises a close second. Folks keep spending their $$$ and she keeps booking the trips.

If you can remove all of the woke stuff, Disney World and Land are amazing in how they’re run and how they are marketed. Priced keep going up and attendance keeps going.

I will have to agree that many of the adults take it way too far.

Worked with a guy that had worked at Disney World as a carpenter. He said if you go the first week of June it really is a happy place....

I have been took the kids , like PF my wife had all the stuff figured out and we had a good time the kids were 4, 6 , 7

we did it once , did the dining plan , I had a good time.

I could even see maybe taking the grand kids if I got any.

but man there are some real addicts and I am sorry , 40-50 , unmarried or divorced and a Disney addict is not a good look no matter how cute she is.

Went to Disney World in Florida when I was 13ish. It frigging sucked! Bush Gardens was waaaay better.
But I was the kinda kid that filled rolls of dad’s camera film on alligators and rocket engines……and good looking girls my age in Nashvile at the Grand ole Opry……..lol.

Shakeyjake, I spent the whole trip looking in the stormwater management ponds for alligators. It was like winning the lottery when I saw one during a ride on the monorail.
I also spent a good amount of time looking for largemouth bass - I saw an absolute giant (8lbs +) in the big pond at Magic Kingdom and there were some hogs in the lake at Epcot near the ferry dock.
Last time we went, I also got some amazing video of an anole lizard eating an earthworm in the gardens in front of the Winnie the Pooh ride LOL.

if you want gators , the glades are where it is at.

while you are there book a charter in the 10000 islands area for snook & redfish

maybe a second charter on a boat that will run out a good distance like 30 miles.

They did have a Gatorade grab and kill a toddler off one of the deluxe resorts beaches several years back. They are there and dangerous.

Been to Disney World once and have been to Disneyland several times and going back here the end of July with the whole family and grand kids, no place better for kids who like to ride stuff and me a people watcher LOL

Have to say though that Disney in Florida was a welcome laid back change compared to the multitudes of people at Disneyland

less crowed and easier to get around not as large as the other gives you more time to explore that neat state, I would never explore California any longer total waste of time especially the southern coast, up north maybe !

Is frontier land still there?? That and the pirates of the Caribbean and haunted mansion were the only places I’d want to see.
But other than that,,, I simply just don’t think I’d be comfortable taking my granddaughter there.

I have a cousin who has worked for both land and world , I think she is at world now but was at land for a long time.

that is where it gets interesting , I would say the novelty of working for Disney may have worn off in the last 30 years but she really likes logistics.

The carousel of progress i always liked, the people mover was good for a seated break and geting to see future works and the buzz light year ride was fun.

At epcot I liked the living with the land boat ride and seeing all the genetically modified things in the green house on it. Plus it was nin the ac and nice place for me to take the small kids while my wife and daughter were in line for soreness sp? The hang gliding simulation that goes over California.
