For those that have sent PMs, thanks.

Well back in April the missus went in for gall bladder work. Only a simple gall bladder operation, but the surgeon botched things. A fistula developed, look it up, she now has a permanent leaking hole in her belly and all of her nutrition now comes in a bag that I have to inject with the vitamins she needs and hook up to a pump that feeds into a central line. But that took a month to figure out that she was slowly starving to death due to even more medical malpractice. Seems like the doctor prescribing the bag believed that 400 calories a day is more than sufficient. It was only when going to a completely different ER/system that was discovered.
Needless to say mobility is mostly gone, falls have occurred, pressure sores developed and my bedside manor might do for doctoring critters but not a wife.

Even now with her in rehab for a bit we still aren't out of the woods but the goal is build back with an eye to the possibility, slim but possible, out reversing the fistula and maybe restoration of the stomach. But she's back up to 100lbs from a low of 75lbs enroute hopefully to her orignal 125.

Go hug your missus.

I just awoke and saw this. Definitely praying for you and your better half. I pray the Lord gives you strength and determination to stay calm and patient when you don't know what to do and when it is out of your control. Times like this we need Jesus to carry the burden and allow us to just love on those around us. Please know, we are glad to intercede on your behalf and I pray your wife receives the physical healing her body needs. Medicine is a practice, mistakes are made, but Gods grace is sufficient. Know He paid the price and I pray you as well get some rest and your concerns are eased. I do not claim to understand all you are going through, but I know who holds the future and I know when we place our trust in Him, it can shift the burden and ease our fears as we gain eternal eyes. Thank you for being the man your wife needs and the man God has called you to be in this situation. Thank you for setting an example others may see and never say thanks. You are appreciated and loved.

Sorry you're going through this, must be frustrating... I completely understand the bedside manners thing, seen it and lived it myself...just remember your wife didn't ask for this, try not to let the frustration affect her...it's not easy.....Prayers to you both....

Sorry to hear. Best of luck to you. As someone that takes someone to many Dr Appointments / Hospitals... my way of thinking had to change. Its not a lets take this person to the professionals, they are the experts, and they'll handle it situation anymore. They have all the knowledge and experience you would think right? Well it don't work like that. If you aren't, as they call it, "advocating" for your own care its easy to end up sitting on the curb out in front of the hospital wondering wth just happened. A person nowadays has to become the expert of whatever "issue" they are dealing with and advocate all of the medical care for themselves.

If it was a construction project it would be the project manager. The person you need (usually the patient is too out of it to do it themselves) needs to help organize the chaos and sort out issues between the various groups of people working, miscommunicating, and causing chaos. Dr to Dr, Dr to Surgeon, Nurse to Dr, Dr to physical therapy. i.e. why hasn't PT been here in two days? i.e. why are you giving that medicine Dr X said he was changing it? i.e. is someone going to change her bed pan?

Yeah its easy to get frustrated and for people to think and act like you are the odd one but stay vigilant. If I was going in for something I'd have a notebook and keep a journal of everything that happens and all the things that people say / do with dates and times like a Diary.

Hopefully that helps someone. Hope things improve for you and your wife.

My prayers are with you. There is nothing as hard as watching a loved one suffer.
