I’m good buddies with a few folks down that way and I’ve heard them pronounce it a couple different ways.

My coon-(This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) buddy calls it lewzawna. I doubt the spelling really brings out the humidity in his speech.

I have a friend from mid state that says it like Yote says .

I usually say it lew-easy-Ana like Scott does. But when I’m with my friends from down that way I find myself saying it like lewzeana. All one word of that makes sense.

Another.

Do you call this a bream (pronounced brim) or do you call it a panfish?

Either way, it’s delicious.

It is a bluegill. But folks refer to the narrow body fresh water fish in that category as bream or panfish.

I’ll be up that way in 2028 for work and some turkey hunting. Perhaps we will have a drink and discuss. Lol

Here is a question for the CB (aka) the Opelousas Kid.

What is the name for the area you live in, and how did it get its name?
