Are you talking about acadiana, opelousas or st. landry parish

Acadiana is the name for the group of Parishes considered the heart of Cajun Country.
Acadia is just one of the parishes on the list.

308 years? Wow, that’s cool! I thought the first Acadians didn’t get to South Louisiana until the mid-1760’s.

My guess is you have older kinfolk that speak French just like I do.

Here is another question for ya''.
How do the Cajuns pronounce Alexandra?

yeah your right about opelousas but if you go look up when rene Gautier dit LaFleur. he arrived here in 1719 which is my 11 great grandpa. which is 308 years ago.

He eventually settled in Natchitoches, where he served as the first interpreter to local Indian nations.

Alexandra is pronounced "Ellick" where I am from.

I am right in the heart of rice & crawfish country.

11,500 Acadians were deported from Nova Scotia between 1750 and 1760 to Louisianna where they later became known as Cajuns.
Free ride to gatorville for those troublemakers.

… I guess that’s possible

… but I think them not being gay enough to fit into Canadian society might have had something to do with it as well
