My oldest brother once visited the massacre site and made friends with a Lakota Sioux park ranger. The park ranger had a great uncle who had been a participant and had heard all the firsthand accounts as a child. The ranger ended up taking my brother all around the battlefield after hours and telling him the stories he had heard growing up about the battle.

Pretty cool deal.
