For those of you that buy or sell honey, what is the price per half pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallons, or does honey go by the pound?

In my area of Pa, quarts ( 3 pound ) sell between a $14 to $21 range. I’m at $19.

I've never seen it sold by the pound. Maybe for bulk sales. A quart jar is roughly 3#

Keith if you are going to sell honey I'd check out your state ag rules. Likely there are some cottage/home kitchen rules that apply. From a broad perspective, the fed requirements are quite explicit regarding what's on label, size print, etc. Sold by weight with pounds and metric listed

Can't personally help with pricing as I sell none bottled. In general most of the local hobbyist crowd tend to aim for selling around $5-8 a pound but it widely fluctuates across the state.

We pay 25 for a half gallon. 22.50 if you bring the jug back for a refill. Amish pour it from 5 gallon buckets. This not clover honey.

I’m really surprised by some of these prices listed. I’ve had bee guys tell me that I’m giving away my honey at $19 a quart. That say they won’t sell it for less than $10 a pound. That’s $30 a quart. I could sell honey at $30 a quart…..if I only had to peddle 10 quarts a year. But to sell a bigger volume of honey, you have to stay with what the local markets dictate. I am constantly looking at honey prices at farm and flea markets, stores, and roadside markets. I’ve kept bees since 1974, and fortunately , I’ve got a lot of loyal, repeat customers

Amish and Mennonite are asking $16/qt. Some other local farmstands are almost double that

I sell at $20 lb. Which admittedly is outrageous. However 1) that's about what all the small farmers market types sell theirs for around here. 2) I'm only selling honey from a few hives so it isn't much. 3) I sell out within a few weeks or a month at the longest.

I just do this as a little hobby. When I'm pulling honey in the summer and sweating it out I do think to myself that I really wouldn't want to do this for less than $20/lb.
