It will be a logistical nightmare. We got lucky yesterday that they didn't ban fur sales. All we can do is reload and wait for next attack. It should be another eye opener as to what can happen!
Everyone here should read the article in my second post. This is becoming the new norm!

That is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of a wildlife commission doing. So stupid. Did I read the correctly? (First Gentleman) Sooooo that makes the governor a queer? Yep! Thanks for posting the article Monster Toms! Like you said, It shows what can happen and theres more to come.

I read the article. Daily limit of two beavers? I guess I’d only be setting two traps out at a time? Gonna be tough to comply, and enforce.
We have season limits on beavers here in Pa. Depending on the zone, 20, 40 , or 60 beaver.
We have a one otter limit. Need a permit ( with a tag ), can only set 5 traps, only two can be body grippers. And the season is only a week long. Correct we will only be allowed 2 of each specie daily.

Correct we will only be allowed 2 of each specie daily. Hate that you have to deal with such nonsense. But it sounds like that will cause more trappers to throw in the towell, who is going to run a trapline to catch two animals per day, unless you are allowed extended multi day checks.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Too bad we couldn't have had a "moment of science" in Colorado. If I was a Coloradan I would have to give up trapping and/or move to another state. If the activity doesn't pencil out...I'm out.
There's no way a limit of two can make it work out economically.

Queer, Vegetarian, anti-gun, anti-fur, anti-trapping, and is "disgusted" by our lifestyle and wants it abolished. He's working hard on that while his Medicaid program for illegals is breaking the health care system in Colorado. He was raised in a wealthy neighborhood in LaJolla California and is a billionaire that has enough of his own foundations, trusts, and charities that he's able to NOT pay Federal income tax.

There's no way a limit of two can make it work out economically. And that is the EXACT STATED GOAL OF THE PETITION. To "take away" the economic incentive for cage trapping. Conventional traps were outlawed in this state in 1996, only cage traps have been allowed since.

^^^Yes, I do get it. When we have legislators and governors that work out their personal vendettas against science based wildlife management we all are in deep trouble. It's happening all around us. Oregon is actually fortunate to have been able to defeat at least some of these efforts and keep trapping more or less as it has been for a long time. We look north and south and those states have not fared well.

I'm curious to what parts of a cage-trapping-only-state have it better than one that is not? I can guess that some of our recent trials and tribulations about closed areas for beaver trapping and marten trapping must be part of that. No matter what, it is obvious that we all are under attack.

Put it this way, I did not vote for our current governor and will not be voting for her this time around either. But if the republican challenger is in complete lockstep with "you know who" I could not support that either.

You do know any Republican gets a list from Federalist Society? Charles Koch of the famous Koch brothers. I say famous, cause I like them. "McConnell’s mission Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has made confirming conservative judges his singular focus. In 2018 he described his goal at a gala of the Federalist Society, the four-decades-old legal network that’s become the pipeline for Republican judicial appointees: It’s “to do everything we can, for as long as we can, to transform the federal judiciary, because everything else we do is transitory.”" Time.

Interesting, dirt! If you have something specific to say...... then say it!! I do not have the bandwidth to disentangle your riddles!!! The meaning behind his quotes can be confusing. In his first sentence maybe he's saying that Trump simply picked jurists from a list provided to him by the Federalist Society which is not a bad thing at all. I know the Society vetted Trump's list of SCOTUS nominees. And of course Charles Koch gets the list, that's the least the Society can do in return for the massive donations they receive from Koch Industries (I like the Koch bros to). As for the quote about McConnell's mission...if you figure out a hidden meaning there...let us know.
Eh...wot?

I find it interesting that the governor appointed THREE new commissioners for this meeting and NONE of them have been approved yet. But they were still allowed to present new proposals and be the deciding votes. What if the Senate doesn't approve them? Will these new regulations they passed still stand? I'm assuming they will, but I'm not so sure they legally should. That's an interesting point. I bet a trapping organization concerning enough to fund a legal challenge to these new regulations could have them stayed and potentially reversed.
Eh...wot?

WSTA never joined forces with the beaver relocators. As for them harassing you or springing your traps that has always been and still is illegal. We helped kill a bill that would have given them State grant money for relocations. They are certainly not happy with us.

According to an outfitter I hunted elk with for quite a few years, he blames this on these crazies who immigrated from places like CA. He said they feel it's immoral to kill any living creature. Their only exception being abortion of a human being.

I gave a ride to a Californian transplant living in southern Oregon one time. She was gardening and wanted to know of any plants that would discourage gophers. Told her I didn't know about that but knew some good pinch traps could help out. Was told that she would never hurt any living creature in her garden.
So, OK then.....lol. I'll bet spading her garden in the spring was a long and arduous task.
