I'm failing to understand why being in the military would provide wisdom in choosing leadership beyond what a civilian may possess. Same. I’ve known some dumb dudes that were in the military. The majority of military personnel vote conservative/Republican and continue to vote that way after they leave the service. That right there makes them wiser/smarter than many citizens who haven't served (or even worked for a living).
Eh...wot?

I don know about all that Warior. A night on the town in Manhattan KS or Waco TX might make ya want to give a few soldiers the day off come votin day. I'd not require them all to vote LOL Well, a ride through Columbus, GA or most any army town does make one question, lol. Probably bring back the old whiskey for ballots scheme. But I stand by my principle of putting it on the line in some meaningful way to have a say on how things are run. You know like them vets did in Athens, TN.

I'm failing to understand why being in the military would provide wisdom in choosing leadership beyond what a civilian may possess. Not sure military service would qualify anyone to vote ... Only thing military service taught was to follow orders without question or suffer consequences. Social security and Medicare ... Government social programs??? I paid in my whole work life, the government sayes I have to participate, even if it costs me more in expenses and taxes. Only requirement to vote should be ... Verifiable adult US citizenship!

I have felt for any years that military or public service should be a requirement to vote. They would be inclined to keep up with the issues and actually go vote, not just bellyache about everything.

I'd be ok with military service qualifying you for a vote. Agreed. 4. Military veteran.

I take exception to your first requirement
1: you MUST OWN property to vote
People who rent ARE the ones paying the taxes.
Sometimes.BUT,,sometimes Im the one paying their rent,,through MY taxes. And their heat and air and buying the groceries for them also. And medical,,and school lunch and school.YEA..pretty much everything.

I didn't serve but I do pay taxes. Does that qualify? I'd gladly give my right to vote up if I could never pay taxes again. That's a darn good deal, ide take that deal!

People who rent ARE the ones paying the taxes. Also the mortgage and something for the landlords pocket.
My brother and his wife rent. He's retired Navy (24 years) Is 62 years old and still works. Raised 3 successful children and his wife is a school teacher. Thank God he votes!
If he is paying out all that,,why dont he buy his own place?I take it you are a renter also.
