I’m in the market to upgrade my 2010 Bowtech Admiral. It’s been a great bow, killed a lot of critters with it. Been looking around at slightly used stuff. Elite has my attention, but am partial to Bowtech, this is my third BT. What are y’all shooting and why do u like it?

I’m sure recurve guys will chime in, but I’ll go down that route another time, sticking with compound for now.

I shoot a Matthews. Any other brand would be a step down.

Hard to beat a bear in my opinion. Really like my alaskan.

I shot a Bear Alaskan back in the late 70's, was a nice bow then. model T now.

Shot a Bowtech for years, then a Martin Razor X for years. Much prefer the grip on the Martin over any other, and it's a single cam bow. Still have it complete with draw modules and new string and cable.

4 years ago I purchased a new Elite Remedy. Much better shooter than anything except my old Hoyt Pro Vantage.
Easy to self tune because of the new SET technology on the bow.

Should be able to find a used one pretty easy for way less than new.

Morning, I shot SE forever, then Martin, Jennings, Prime, and then I shot a Mathews at the insistence of a friend. I bought a Mathews at a good price, guy bought it then switched to crossbow, only shot it like 3 times. It was the most dead in my hand bow I ever shot. My brother and nephews are still PSE guys and love them. Lot of quality bows on the market these days. But like everything else it is pricey!

Last Year I bought a new Hoyt RX8 to replace a 13yr old Hoyt TurboHawk. I am extremely happy with it. Its so nice not to get a cold hand holding the bow due to the carbon fiber.

If u want to spend the $ on a new one. Dont look at the name brand , just shoot some bows and figure out which one u want. I was shooting an old bear. Stopped at a shop to shoot a new bear and ended up leaving with a used hoyt torrex. Quieter faster and alot more accurate than my old bear. Plus cheaper than a new bear!

I have shot PSE since I was a kid. Still own 3 of them.

i shot a bear attitude for 15 years then my buddy i shoot and hunt with decided he wanted a new mathews he was shooting a bowtech bt-31. spot hogg fast eddie single pin sight and a vap drop away rest. he let me talk him into selling me the bowtech and he decked out the mathews pretty much the same accessories and here we are 2 seasons later and he regrets ever selling the bowtech. im not partial to any one brand there was nothing wqrong with my old bear and i still have it as a backup but man this bowtech is so much nicer to shoot. i paid 275 for the bear rth model. gave my buddy 500 and a mountain bike for the bowtech. i forget which mathews he bought but it was the best one they made 2 years ago that wasnt a carbon bow.

I shoot the same Elite Hunter I have had for 10+ years and have no wish to change unless I eventually can't back the poundage down far enough if my shoulder ever becomes an issue. I love how it shoots.

I have shot a Mathews since I was old enough to shoot a bow. Started out with a 2001 model Q2. Thought I would be a Mathews shooter for life.

This summer I was having some issues with my 2020 Mathews Traverse. I had been thinking about getting a newer bow anyway. I shot the Bear, Mathews Arc, the new Bowtech, and the Hoyt RX10 Ultra. The last bow that I shot was the bow shop owners personal PSE Mach 33DS that he was going to be selling to buy this year models bow.

Holy cow. That PSE Mach 33 blew the rest of the bows away for me. I would put Bowtech and Bear at the bottom of the pile. The new Mathews was nice, but ultimately I like the PSE carbon bow the best. And its carbon riser is actually made in the USA, unlike Hoyt.

I got it for half of what they cost new. Killed a 130" buck with it opening day. It holds on target better than any bow I've ever shot.

PSE is killing it right now. I can't see myself shooting anything else for quite awhile.

Can't help on specific brands. Ill go to a bow shop every few years and shoot the flagship bows just for giggles and grins. My favorite each time seems to be a different brand. Im big on tuning my own stuff which is why im still shooting a single cam from 2010. Short of the limbs blowing up, i can fix anything on it in a half hour or less. Most of the new bows are integrating tuning features into them that dont require a bow press. If I was to buy a new bow, that would be an absolute requirement. Needing a bowpress to change shims like in years past is a real pain.

Certain things are a must. Solid back wall, smooth draw cycle, and a balanced hold for target acquisition.

Still love my admiral, might upgrade my accessories (which could be moved to the new bow when I pull the trigger).

Elite Varos, Elite HNTR 33, Bowtech solution LS are three I’m currently eyeing ( Archerytalk Classifieds and locally )
