Is that good or bad that tight between thumb an first finger ? A high wear point I don't care for it, I can't spread my hand open enough to get 160's set unless I pull the gauntlet up every time. I usually get frustrated, roll my sleeves up and go barehanded. Makes the gloves last longer.

I've seen this thread before I'm sure. Yup Every year, it’s a traditional post from coonman.

Noway I agree with that, gloves last 4-5 seasons of hard use , noway no how for anyone , u have never try it, 31 inch long gauntlets is what want , just look for options on brands , I try look no bs gauntlets , not sure if only ones had that u got seal seams or what , I thought there other brand no bs had , at my one job, sometimes I go thru 2 pairs leather gloves in 5 hrs, at best , 3 days but rarely, often every day an hate drag o g oil soak gloves to prove u had them as if Throw away , an don't take home u for next day, u can be charge $5 , but this is for something different , no gauntlet well last u 2 seasons of heavy use, I had rate occasion, a pair last into 2 ND season I think most gauntlets are made in factories that only use PT or temp help. Maybe that's the problem with your gloves? Wow.

I don't recall anyone that wears out gauntlets and waders any faster than coonman220.

I've only ever had one pair leak at what I considered prematurely. The ones I liked the best I bought from F&T and were Wells Lamontes. Had 4-5 sets in my time and only the one seeped some water after a couple weeks use.
Polar paws and cheap yellow ones from TSC were ok also.

Usally have 2 pr on hand for trapping, still use old cheapy boots yet an not broke out new pr cheapy boots I got last summer but old boots maybe leak soon, still have pr Dan's heavy ins boots ready go with maybe half tread for cold weather , very few traps out start today for the first an mid part week anyhow , so got 2 pair cold creek gauntlets with shoulder strap insulated , this morning I see common wear place , between thumb an first finger, small hole, common place for gloves to wear so got new pr out for tomma, should start use tongs for 110 s to set them so easier on gloves ? The other new pr got 4 weeks of fairly heavy use bfore hole , not extremely heavy like long liner or they last few days , not really a way patch them so anyone recommend good gauntlets with shoulder strap I get mine from harbor freight, believe last time i bought they were $8-10/pair. I can usually get a couple years out of a pair

That's where I got my last ones , think 3 pair for way less than the shoulder length trapper gloves . Just limited my sets to shallower sets . Still have two pair never used . That was 12 years ago .

I have had at least 3 pairs in past that leak right away, factory defect Or you’re buying junk? Pay a little and get a better glove.

Shoe Goo, and I use cheapo Jersey gloves inside mine, far superior insulation than leather.
