Class act.

Just pointing out how stupid he was. You know, just like I've pointed you out so many times.

Yes, it is, with certain diatribes on this forum.

Don’t tell me the horse apples of not reading it then.

I was wearing sweatpants, a tee shirt and tennis shoes. I had my wallet and keys. I placed them in the tray, put them through the X-Ray and walked through the metal detector without any alarm. Picking up my items, I asked one of the rent-a-cops if lock boxes were available and where they were at if I was carrying. The other rent-a-cop comes over and asks the dumbest question of the month. "Why? You're not carrying, are you?" Something just annoyed the heck out of me. Sometimes stupid people just strike a nerve with me. I just looked at him and said, "Really? I just went through the X-Ray and metal detector...... Really????" I just looked at him and shook my head while walking away. Yea, I was kind of rude, but come on now. People need to start using 5% of their brain. Turns out that after all that, the election's office moved out of the courthouse. As I was leaving, I guess this idiot wanted to get the last word, so he yelled over, "To answer your question, people try to bring all kinds of stuff in here. Someone tried to bring in brass knuckles not too long ago." I wasn't about to get in an argument with a moron, so I just waved and left. I resisted the urge to say, "Yea, and you caught it with the X-Ray and detector right, you idiot?" I bit my lip so hard that it's going to leave a mark. Sometimes I just can't take stupid anymore.

Your dumber than him for asking for a lock box for a gun you dont have, lol.

And you win the prize for dumbest of all.

Did you not read that his intent was to confirm if they were abiding by the law not that he needed one?

Never has to me. They want me to leave a dangerous item out on the street unsupervised in a locked container constructed with a large amount of glass.
Seems to me that if they require it they should provide security.

But the courthouse that takes the cake is the Newton County courthouse in Covington. Not just detectors but your shoes and belt come off and pat downs are a regular practice and all county offices are behind the detector. Pop in the see the county extension agent you get a TSA shakedown.

Makes one wonder why do they fear us?

Fear us? I don’t think they fear us, they might fear the repercussions of some decisions made, lol. I’ve been in court where if an individual had a weapon then I’m sure it would have been used. I’ve been threatened in court along with the judge and lawyer. Bailiffs jumped in about as quick as any QRF. I don’t think a high tension court case is a place for a weapon.
As far as leaving a gun in vehicles, sounds like you live in a dangerous place. I keep a pistol, shotgun, AR, .22 rifle, and bow in my truck. Never had an issue, but most everyone knows my truck too.

Same in Fayetteville Ark. A nice lady on the street told me there would be a shakedown coming in the door so I put my dangerous pocketknife in the pickup.

Why is a gun always considered a "weapon" anymore? Car keys can be a weapon if used as such. A rock also.
Guns aren't a weapon unless used in a violent manner.[Linked Image]

A civilian carrying a gun into a court facilityin PA, is a crime regardless if you have a carry permit. Thats probably why the "rent a cop" got upset. People who get permits should know the law... And another thing, I have removed brass knuckles from people that were made of plastic. Just saying...

Not quite. it is legal if you have a LTCF in PA.

Yes, I agree. people with permits should know the law, and maybe you should also?. Here it is:

Title 18 SS 913:
(e) Facilities for checking firearms or other dangerous weapons.--Each county shall make available at or within the building containing a court facility by July 1, 2002, lockers or similar facilities at no charge or cost for the temporary checking of firearms by persons carrying firearms under section 6106(b) or 6109 or for the checking of other dangerous weapons that are not otherwise prohibited by law. Any individual checking a firearm, dangerous weapon or an item deemed to be a dangerous weapon at a court facility must be issued a receipt. Notice of the location of the facility shall be posted as required under subsection (d).

One final note with your comment. If you took plastic brass knuckles off of someone, then they are not "brass knuckles" are they. They would be "plastic knuckles" huh. You don't by chance work at the Mercer County courthouse do you?

Where's your commonsense to understand what he was saying without taking it literally?

Sometimes the comments on here remind me of ole Mark Twain: “It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”
