yup I didn't run the numbers but eggs up about 66% is what I read

I can get the good eggs from a local farm for 5.50 a dozen they went up from 5 dollars a dozen

the grocery store for the plain old 18 pack of extra large eggs that was about 3 dollars is now high 5 to low 6

I hit the egg lottery last Sunday evening 7 dozen at 99 cents a dozen , catch is they all had 1 broken egg in the carton.

that store when things slow down sunday evening checks all the cartons of eggs set aside and any with a broken egg get marked down

a lot of those dozens of eggs were the organic that are going for 5.79 a dozen right now

All I know is that chicken feed has gone up quite a bit in the last couple of years. But I don't have to buy eggs.

It's Exactly doubled in price

Three years ago I took in a $20 and bought 2 bags of feed for that and had enough left over for a Glass bottle Rootbeer or black cherry.

Now it's over $19 a bag after Minn. Tax

I buy eggs from a person down the road from me, $2.50 a dozen for brown eggs.
I give him all of my empty egg cartons.

If you consider the nutritional value of an egg that has more vitamins and minerals than any other food except liver, and is absorbable (unlike daily vitimins), its still a pretty good deal.

I sell mine at $4 a dozen to coworkers. I could sell 3 times as many as I do if I wanted. I charge enough that I eat my eggs for free. If I really wanted a profit margin, I'd go to $5 and my customers would still pay. Store eggs (white) ate 3-4, brown eggs in the store are 5+.

I pay about $60/month for feed and eat 4 eggs a day. Give the rest away. Soooo... I pay $6/dozen for the ones I eat.

I used to pay $.70 a dozen. When the price went to $2.58 for the same dozen, so I bought chicks.
