12 Ga turkey loads on the Federal site $20+ a pop for 5 rounds that’s nuts

TSS has always been to rich for my taste but 20 a shot is nuts.

I went back to the Winchester double x magnums this year. Got them for 15.99 a box of 10 on sale. I’ll throw in my kicks .665 and it’s a dead Turkey to 50 yards if needed.

Local Scheels has the 3.5” 2oz. TSS 3rd degree Meateater on sale for $25/5. I believe that will work just fine.

I just can’t bring myself to spend that on a turkey shell. The Winchester Long Beard XL’s are plenty good.

Turkeys are stupid and a dime a dozen.
Dove loads and 20 yards work fine.

I need to hunt turkeys in MN.

And if you come to the swamps of Southern Georgia you'll get to buy your turkey at a grocery store.

I still have a few Federal 3” 2oz load of #6 lead. Bought a box of 25 about 40years ago. A great turkey loading for out to 60 yards. Closer is better.

Never seen this loading again.

Saw a box of 3.5” tss at dunhams for 72.99. Crazy.

I'm with you on this. The long beard XL's work great in my Winchester long beard shotgun.

you shoot what 2-3 a year? what ya spend in gas? new camo? other expenses such as meals and hotels if you hunt away from home? ammo is still the cheapest part of the hunt.

Wait until they outlaw lead, those prices will be cheap!

My fear is turkey calling will become turkey sniper time in the future uncallable just pick them off at long yardage more like hunting deer.

Plenty of otc tags and turkeys are plentiful, come on up, bring the dove loads.

Shooting those isn't doing anything but wasting valuable tss

If you are shooting a 12ga longbeard XR is all you need. Tss shines in the small guns

Here we go yet again, TSS haters in 12 gauge vs TSS lovers.

I like to call them in to within 30 yards, so I'll stick with my Winchester number fives.

105 grains black powder, 1 1/2 oz 5's a little ffff in the pan and a sharp rock for the inigition spark to set it off

I like to call them in to 5-10 yards and hit them in the head with my high power pellet gun, anything further you need to be a better caller and anything more than a pellet gun is over kill!
