We have a blizzard starting. Even the ramps on the interstate are closing. It will only last until Sunday morning. It is getting pretty fuzzy out and it just started.

More like a wild garlic , but onion bite.
They are very good eating raw, cooked , and any way you want to use them , same as any onion or garlic.
Some people gather bunches of them and can them for use all year .

To me, the taste is a mixture of onion and garlic flavor. Not strong but very mild.
Our annual trout fishing group pick them fresh from the woods, and eat them along the stream with the fresh caught trout.
Personally I like them raw, maybe a treat dipped into a little salt.

Still a little early here yet, but with the weather we've had , should be up sooner this year.

Thanks, guess they are only in mountainous regions? Sounds like they would be good to cook with.

I see lots of them in Trout season which is next month.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Going to be awhile here just got 6 inches of snow with more on the way. We always get them when we are mushroom picking. I like them in fried potatoes or grilled with a steak.

Late April and early May here. I keep an extra baggie with me when trout fishing or turkey hunting. Leeks are good a lot of different ways, but I like them grilled best. Pickled roots are pretty great too

Ramps are good in about anything. They are a cross between an Onion and a Garlic. My wife loves them in Fried Potatoes, Omelettes, and as a Pizza Topping. I have been in the Hospital this past week and did not get out until last night but will be checking my Patch this week. If it is ready then I will go to Webster County and dig some and always plant another Bucket full on my Farm in Ivydale.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.
