One can also google up an industry report that projects strong growth for the next 5 years in the felt market. With the young generation you just have to hope they don't come up with a vegan felt made out of pussywillows or something.

Beaver hide prices up a little, castor prices down alot, so are they really worth much more?
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

hippie....we gotta figure out a value added market for the castor. Castor scented candles and soaps. Castor flavored craft beers, etc. Help me add to the list!

Don't hold your breath. Look what happened to the coyote market in just one season. The coyote market was strong for a lot more than one season.

It's already running out of steam in these parts as the carcass buyers have lowered their prices. I doubt it is due to any real market adjustment, but they are getting swamped with carcass beaver. Traps at every road crossing around here. Maybe it is because it is nearing the end of the season and they are starting to get bit up?
I have nothing clever to put here.

With prices of beaver hides going up, it’ll put a hurt on Pennsylvania’s beaver numbers. A lot of trappers, and in many parts of the state there aren’t big beaver numbers now. In another year or two, the Low Beaver Light is gonna start blinking here. I agree-responsible trapping as it pertains to beavers taken out of an area,as always, should be the priority.Great time to introduce a youngster to beaver trapping.

You are just starting to thaw out and remember it's a total hatter market. I'd say the buyers are getting swamped

The top end is still garment market. Those skins will see a nice spike in the near future I bet.
