I paid $155 for a very sharp Genesis neck knife (worn around the neck) made by MTK. Some of their knives go up to $320.

Some of my cheaper knives perform as well as some the more expensive ones.

It's all about the steel and the heat treat, $320.00 for a blade that I know will hold it's value isn't much when it comes to custom knives.

Here's my necker gramps...

Ive got several knives that would of retailed over 300 if I paid retail for them. Really depends on the steel, thickness, style, scales, etc. 100-150 is probably my limit of bushcraft or chef quality knives. Can spend a heck of a lot more if you wanted to go real high end.

Think $75 is the most I have paid. Would go higher for a Randle.

most I think I ever paid was 85

had a 140 dollar knife gifted to me , darn it if that isn't the one I can't find , I am about 98% sure it is in the house , I just don't know where it is an automatic so it isn't particularly large

I seem to find a lot of good users in the 25-50 price range that don't hurt so much if they get lost

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Whatever you want to spend. I have some handmade fillet knives but my go to are Betts fillet knives 2.68 each at the farm store and they hold a great edge I never expected them to be what they are when I bought them 5 years ago

My everyday carry - Spyderco Police model. It gets used a lot. Had it for over 25 years. Approximately $125

For me a knife is a tool and they tend to get lost. I spent 150 on a nice custom made knife. Or at least nice by my standards. Lost it in about a week. Now I carry mostly cheaper American made Old Timers I buy off ebay. I can get them sharp easily and if I lose one it doesn't hurt too bad.

Considering I have all the knives I will ever need, it would take something really special for me to pay $50+ for. Sometimes a do find a real good deal I just can't pass up. Like guns, person can't have too many knives.

A guy that lives not far from me builds a lot of customs - five figures and multi year waiting lists

A 300 dollar Benchmade. I'm afraid to carry it. Afraid I would lose it
