Yes, but isn't that Alaska prices? Maybe 25% less for the lower 48 price?

No it was not sold to anyone in Alaska but it was clearly an anomaly. I'm not suggesting that those rifles are worth that today.or ever were ))

I'll take a load at 5-6.

I sold one I bought around 1989 chambered in 264 for 1500$ a couple years ago. A wood stocked model 70 or rem. 700 will usually bring a grand and on up for "odd" calibers at sales.

I think there are at least 3 push feed model 70/670's in the garage now in 270, 06 and 300. I sold my post 64 264 about a year ago for $850. My pre-64's obviously would bring more money.

I have nothing clever to put here.

A local I've know since I can remember buys used guns from papers, gunbroker, ect. and then sells them at a public auction. He waits until he has 50 or so, then sells.

Guns like pictured here will run you 800-1000 at these sales.

Same prices here. I don’t have a 264 in a Winchester, reminds me I should find one.

I have several 670's and they too were economy models but still shoot well.

They are "post 64". At a glance, the quickest way to tell is if the serial number starts with a G, it is post 64 although 64, 65 and possibly 66 did NOT have the G prefix.

I’m not an expert (I’ve done a little research over the years though being a bit of a Winchester aficionado) and I’d say the easiest way to tell pre or post 64 is look for the big Mauser style extractor. Of course that doesn’t work if it is one of the later made New Haven guns when they switched back to controlled feed but you probably wouldn’t confuse one made that recently for a pre 64 anyway.

Previously Bridger158, before the great "Time Out".
